Unfortunately never got to see the club in the football league and it's increasingly looking like I never will.

Looking at average attendances non-league is probably where the club really belongs.

Maybe, but we didn't get here on paper, we got here on grit determination, strength, belief, skill and a bit of luck along the way.
It's about time we grasped the moment and make sure our visit is for more than 10 years

Agree wholeheartedly Mark.

We simply cannot accept that what the media and bookies tell us that we are certainties for relegation.

We ALL have to play our part in doing our damndest to ensure this doesn't happen.

Management, players, staff, and importantly - us supporters.

Let's not make this a season to forget. We fought tooth and nail. Blood and tears. Toil and sweat. To reach our ultimate goal of the Football League.

87 years it took us. 87 years.

Come next August let's say "we're about to enter our 11th campaign in the Football League."

We've never, ever been relegated. Let's continue that proud history together eh ??

We've got our centenary season not too far off. Personally I'd like to see us celebrating that as a League club rather than a non league side in disarray.

It's probably not too far fetched of an idea that the club may not even see it's 100th season!

What a breath of fresh air Seasider. I know were going through hard times, but am sick of all the doom and gloom surrounding the club at the minute. This has to have an effect on the players and management. In the second half of last season none of the players dared do anything other than get rid of the ball because as soon as they made any mistake there was a very audible sigh round the ground. I hope we can put a couple of results together, especially one over the Lashers, and get some positive vibes going.

:( :( :( :( :(

I remember our 75th anniversary "celebration" which was planned for the end of our Promotion winning 1994/95 season which had to be cancelled due to "a lack of interest". Even back then.... :(

Positivity and support will see us over the line this season and then we can all be proud of our achievements come next May.

Come on. Let's do this. We're all Morecambe. We all bleed red.

Agree with the sentiment, we all bleed red......but do the players bleed red.....if they don't.... :?: :?: :?:

If they get the encouragement they need (and most probably) thrive on, they WILL do.

Should the encouragement come from 'off the field' despite performances OR have the players a duty to their fans.... :?: :?: :?:

For me players have a duty to their fan base and if they put in an honest shift then the fans will respond accordingly.

Agreed, but players come & go, fans remain. We're at risk of this becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. We need to get behind the club, management and players. 100%.

When did the fans stop supporting the team? The support throughout the match was fantastic as always on Saturday. Booing occurred at the full time whistle and rightfully so because the performance was yet again appalling.

I agree with the last 3 posts, didn't boo though, it was a cringe worthy moment after 1 game, even if some say it's a continuation of last season

Well I'm all for loyalty and getting behind the team and giving them our full support during the course of a game, however as fans we cant just stick our heads in the sand like a loyal and obedient ostrich there comes a time when blind faith becomes counter productive, if there's a problem then it has to be addressed and if that means a change in management then so be it.

Now I'm not saying straight away we have only played one game and to say we are already in a relegation battle is a bit over the top things can change very quickly in football often when you least expect it.

If there is no improvement within the next month and I'm talking about performance not necessarily winning games then in my opinion we have to take action and I don't see that as being negative just being realistic.

Of course its all hypothetical because unless the takeover goes ahead then there will be no change because PMG will not dispense with Jims services.

Lastly I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that I really want Jim to succeed but at the end of the day Morecambe football club has to come before our love of Jimbo.
