EFL Cup round 2 draw

Great draw? Not for me. It still sounds like an L2 fixture and if they send a strong team it might be the end of our adventure. For me a good draw would have been a big name or a L2 club with a route through to R3. Ah well...

How many games are live?

Acci v Burnley is the obvious one
Peterborough v Swansea
Burton v Liverpool
Exeter v Hull
Northampton v WBA

Probably all ahead of us unfortunately.

Yeah cos we do really well against League 2 and lower sides in the cups, whereas we never beat bigger sides in cups

Stanley Burnley I agree is the obvious one but I think we have a good chance of TV there against all the others. Small team at home. Burton are Championship now. Add the last time we played Bournemouth into the mix and you have an attractive looking cup Seaside battle!!

Assuming Sky show two matches we must have a chance. Accy v Burnley is guaranteed. Luton v Leeds and Stevenage v Stoke are contenders.

Good draw but unfortunately not the big money game we could have done with, should be a decent crowd but certainly not a sell out. Its a good reward for the result last night and I bet its one Jim and the boys will be looking forward to.

Hence why I said it needs to be marketed properly, because you and I know very well that they're a Premier League side now! ;)

Wednesday 24th AFCB fans reckon "with a good chance of being televised"

Hope so. The money would come in handy !!

I agree with a lot of the above. Was really hoping for a premier league team at home but can't help feeling that, to a casual fan, it won't get the juices flowing enough to create a buzz around the town. Saying that, it's something a bit different and I'm really looking forward to it. We could've got a Chelsea and ended up seeing their youth team and being left with a bit of an anti climax. Wonder how many they'll bring on a Tuesday night!!!

They are currently 2nd, only behind Arsenal in the Premiership table. They play on Sunday away at West Ham, so I am expecting it not to be on the Tuesday unless they send out a much changed team
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

It's unusual for us to play midweek home games on a Wednesday. I wonder if this is a try out by the Board to see if the game attracts a larger crowd than what would be expected on a Tuesday. Probably a league game on a Wednesday to follow.... :?: :?: :?:

I think it's entirely to do with Bournemouth having a Sunday game just before, to give them more time to recover.
