Quiet on here?
Wasnt quiet last week when the performance was poor, despite 118 fans watching it from Morecambe considerably more had an opinion?
Presumably more witnessed us beat a big club, yet cannot find anything positive to say??

Doesn't seem to be a balanced view in my opinion, if can't praise and only moan!!
I'm sure they will be back!! ;) :x

It is quiet, I thought the board would be alive...

Well I thought it was a great afternoon and it was good to see smiles on faces leaving the Globe for a change.

Everyone put in a good shift. Honourable mentions to Barky who had a hand in both goals and Stockton who held the ball up very well.

My Morecambe Man of the Match was Michael Rose... I thought he ran the show for us and was exactly the sort of midfield player we've been missing. He was in the thick of it all game, showed leadership and always offered an option to pass it out of defence. His passes were thoughtful - to feet or to run on to and he topped it off by scoring the winning goal.

Great result, well done boys and Jim. Hopefully this result will inject some much needed positivity!

Great result today but mainly thanks to Barkhuizen who is going to be vital to us this season, and needs to be put on a longer deal asap. Stockton played well again, and Dunn looked good with the ball at his feet.

First half they were comfortably the better side and we were extremely fortunate to come in at 1-1. The timing of that goal was critical. We had been overrun in midfield putting too much pressure on a very young defence which is still crying out for Winnard as a proper leader at the back. When we finally have Murphy back to replace Kenyon, he could make a good partnership with Rose who seemed to like getting forward despite being in a holding midfielder role.

We were better second half particularly once we got the second goal which again was all Barkhuizen who I presume got man of the match but couldn't hear given that all the speakers were broken in the home end. He certainly deserved the standing ovation from all sides of the ground.

It's nice to come away with a win, particularly at home.

I thought our performance was good today and fully justified the three points!!

Conlan had a bit of a stinker, but Barks and Dunn were outstanding.

Bring on Pompey!!! Can. Not. Wait.

Happy days are here again !!!!!

Great 3 points today, they were better first half and we just edged it 2nd half for me and deserved the win. Thought rose took his goal excellent and that's what we've been missing lately our central midfielders running into the box getting goals hopefully the first of many for him. Barkhuizen was great again we need to play to his strengths and thought today he was excellent. Roll on Tuesday night!

Freez's post about being quiet on here this week but very vocal last week made me think. When things are not so good and there is a lot of negativity about, I tend not to post; but when good things are happening that's when I tend to be more active. I believe that if anybody really wanted to do an analysis of those posting on here it would almost certainly show a pattern which reflects people's positivity or negativity.

I am already anticipating the negative group moaning about this post not really touching on the realities and the negative aspects of Morecambe F.C. Well tough guys. Let's celebrate the win, and accept that it was a good day. Yes we can also be realistic and admit that it wasn't a great performance, but it was a winning one.

I think it's Shrimper that has something on his posts about the glass being half full as opposed to half empty, and I wish we could all see things like that. Of course Morecambe F.C. (and life in general) is not perfect, but for pity's sake let's shout from the rooftops ................ WE HAVE JUST BEATEN BLACKPOOL IN A LEAGUE MATCH.

Think about it in the context of the history of the two clubs.

OK. Enough for now. I'm off to celebrate the win with a glass or two of whatever is going (never let my glass be half empty though!!!).

Thoroughly enjoyed today, I thought we played well and plenty of positives, particularly very little hoofball at last. Good strong crowd. Let's hope it sets the scene for a good season with higher attendances. People there today will come back again as it was a very entertaining game. I'd have been happy with a draw, but to win was a bonus against a strong team that always looked to have the upper hand.

From my holiday home in Wales I can't tell you anything about the game or how well we played but we beat Blackpool. Blackpool - Matthews, Mortensen, Armfield, Wright, Phillips etc. etc. OK they're falling faster than Tom Daley off a high board but I started supporting Morecambe when a highlight of the season was a derby against Barrow, Lancaster and Workington.

Superb result and still shocked by the Bentley out thread last week. Two brilliant results, Blackpool beaten and a Prem team at home. So wish I'd been there.

Great result! Second best for most of the first half, second half was even then we scored and improved. They seemed to go route one after we took the lead and i thought we defended well against that. Barky had the beating of the 2 players they tried at left back. Was nice to see their fans give applause when he was substituted late on. Quite a few away fans in our areas but no problems moving them to the right end. In the bar after the game and the Oyston's car was attacked! Not sure if they were in it at the time. A policewoman was knocked off her horse, hope she is ok. The horse seemed fine. One of the better days at fortress Globe! Pompey are next :D

Stockton and Dunn brought back memories of Jevons and Mullin. It was so refreshing to see two strikers on the pitch with a bit of pace out wide with Barky. The first half was worrying and I thought Blackpool were going to steamroll us. Potts and the hefty Vassell were causing us no end of trouble but we hung in and got the pen. Second half 'Pool seemed to lose interest and we got on top. Lovely second goal and it showed you don't need 37 sideways passes to score a goal. I like the look of Rose but I think our season will hinge on the extending of Dunn and Stockton's loans until the end of the season.

Well done Jim and the boys. I for one was not looking forward to this run of fixtures a week ago, but now we have two wins in a week and all seems good again.

Not the best performance but we hung in there in the first half and improved after the break. Rose scored a great goal in front of the Omega and we then never really looked like letting it slip.

Good to see a half decent home turn out (around 1800) and not too much bother from the travelling Tangerines who brought just as many. Hopefully most of our fans will be motivated to come back Tuesday for Pompey.

Oystons played the pantomime villains off to a tee after the match, strutting out of the PMG towards their Range Rover, only to be set upon by a dozen boneheads who kicked the bumpers, ripped off a wiper blade and chucked plastic pint pots from the Hurley Flyer. A got copper spooked off her horse but other than that it was all a bit pathetic.

Strange, I thought it was an excellent performance. Reasonably even until they scored. By then we'd already hit the crossbar. After their goal, then they were on top for about 20 minutes, but even then they didn't really look like scoring. Definite penalty, well dispatched. Their number 3 was lucky to still be on the pitch at half time. As I said in an earlier post [at half time] 'he wouldn't finish on the pitch'. Sure enough, he didn't come out for the second half, so their manager obviously agreed that he was a sneeze away from a second yellow card.

Our second was a superb goal! :D :D :D

Good atmosphere, good game. Entertaining game. Hope everyone is back on Tuesday... & brings a friend!

The difference today was that Blackpool were adventurous and came to attack, which left space behind. Even from the start of the game, it was fairly end to end. We need to play more teams like Blackpool who try to attack because our downfall at home recently has been teams who stick men behind the ball and nullify our pace.

That's a fair point, teams who come to have a go we can usually cope with, it's the unadventurous, 10 behind the ball and kick lumps off you teams we usually come unstuck against.
Perhaps finishing in the bottom four will encourage others to come and play, thus enabling us to do the same!!
