Fantastic first half, brilliant second goal and almost a better third from Barky. Hope for a similar 2nd half!

A real nail biter of a match. The old 'game of two halves' cliché sums this one up. Portsmouth were sloppy first half and we took full advantage through a fantastic counter attacking goal by Barkhuizen after a rare Edwards strike. Second half Portsmouth turned into the team I was expecting them to be, moving the ball quickly with some talented individuals. Baker was a constant threat and came close on a couple of occasions. We rarely entered their half after the break and soaked up constant pressure. None of the substitutions changed the one sided nature of the game. Barkhuizen was wasted out wide in the second 45 and didn't impact the game. Perhaps he could have been played as a lone striker, substituting the tiring Dunn for Kenyon to bolster the midfield. Roche deserved MOTM after making countless saves. Edwards deserves credit for a solid performance, it can't be easy for him being the senior centre back at the age of just 22. On a negative note that is the worst refereeing display I have seen in a very long time.

What a performance! Baz was immense in the second half. Barky is turning into something special.

We are at our best when teams come to attack and this has shown in the last two results against supposedly superior opposition.

Atmosphere was great too. Can't remember the last time I have shouted myself horse at a match.

Fans will return if we can keep this up. Come on Morecambe!

Another brilliant result tonight. A very professional performance, taking the 2 goal lead and then seeing the game out. What fantastic and resolute defending - and we haven't been able to say that for a while!

Barky made the difference again, great goal, and Fleming impressed me. Barry a deserved man of the match with save after save to earn a very important clean sheet.

Well done lads.

That was absolutely fantastic - truly 100% given by every one on that pitch. I was critical after Grimsby but credit where it is due, they all put in the fight and spirit I want to see in a Morecambe team. If we played with that determination every week, I would leave happy regardless of the result.

First half after we got the opening goal I thought we controlled the game for a spell and then got the second through a superb move by Barks who must, must, must be given a new deal asap. After the second goal, Pompey came back into it and dominated until the half way mark BUT we had the best chance in that spell through Tom who probably should have put us 3-0 up.

Second half was all one way traffic with the occasional break from us but we defended well all over the park and it was great to watch. I've also been critical of Edwards but that was easily his best performance in a Shrimps shirt. Baz came good when needed and deserved MOTM but it must have been a difficult choice for the sponsors.

First clean sheet since January is also a great positive and I'm glad that homer of a Ref got that late penalty call right. Something to build on!

Looked to me like Jim was protecting what we had and Barks was told to play deeper to help Wakefield.Ditto with Kev.
Not as pleasing on the eye but largely (thanks to Bazza) effective.A great team performance with a mix of graft and skill with for me,Dunn the weak link.He needs to learn to release the ball, especially when under pressure in his own half.

Starting to see some changes in how we set up at home. The Fullbacks rarely cross the halfway line and concentrate on defensive work rather than contributing to attacking moves. This makes us look a bit more solid at the back. Rose is looking accomplished in that holding role and seems to be a influential guy. The two up front and a rapid Barky are making teams think about us as an attacking force rather than just a lone striker being picked up by a single defender.

Great result but horrible to warch for 70 minutes! The work rate was immense and credit where credit is due, Jim seems to have them singing from the same sheet and we look very much a team thus far!

What a great game that was albeit in a sort of perverse way, two goals up which was totally deserved then it was a backs to the wall for virtually the entire second half, have we ever been under that much sustained pressure for that length of time before without conceding.

It was a bit like watching the film Zulu our lads were the redcoats manning the barricades bravely repelling wave after wave of attacking Zulus ( Portsmouth players ) and when they did break through there was our last line of defence Stanley Baker ( Big Baz ) to keep them out, ok over the top I know but it was fantastic to watch 100% effort and commitment everyone played their part, well done to them all, Just don't do it again soon I don't think my nerves will take it
