Fleming and Rose

Excellent backs to the wall performance last night which made the Alamo look like a Sunday afternoon brawl.

However whilst Baz took all the plaudits I have to give special mention to at least two of our heroes last night.

Now it's well known that Fleming wouldn't figure in many of my team selections, but last night he was outstanding. Tackling back when necessary and playing the simple ball to feet of our strike force. Very little sideways passes that has become his trade mark. If he can do that last night then there can be no excuses for him to revert back to type.

For me the most inspired signing of the close season has been that of Michael Rose. His performances just get better and better and his cover of the back four in addition to his forward play show to me why Jimbo was keen to sign him a few seasons ago. It also demonstrates that that bit of experience in the centre of the field is something that has been missing for too many seasons. Not sure how a partnership with Murphy should he get back to first team action will work but certainly it will present the management with a nice problem.

Defensively Whitmore is growing in confidence with every single game which is encouraging for a defensive partnership with Winnard on his return. Maybe Jim will play a back three but Edwards will have to improve on his distribution to be assured of his place for me.

Overall a lot to be encouraged by BUT we've been here before at this stage of the season, just hope that when it comes the New Year we are still being so positive.

:D :D :D
