My earlier post:
Today's Visitor:
"Trouble began after the match when a car carrying senior blackpool officials was vandalised outside the Shrimps Globe Arena ground."
At no point does our LOCAL paper say it was Blackpool fans who were the guilty party.
Any locals read the story, what assumptions will they jump to???
I've Tweeted The Visitor to ask why they didn't make it clear that is was Blackpool fans who were behind all this, but lo and behold, no reply.
My next move is a direct email to the reporter who penned the article.
Not happy.

The only reporter The Visitor had at Saturday's game was from Oldham....
An apology is definitely needed here from our illustrious "local" newspaper....

"Police also received reports that between approximately 5.25pm and 5.30pm on August 13 a car had been vandalised, as it left the ground on Christie Way, carrying several Blackpool Football Club senior officials".
Vandalised BY BLACKPOOL 'FANS' Gemma.
NO MORECAMBE FANS WERE INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT: Let's not have the facts get in the way of the front page story eh?

"After the match some Blackpool "fans" attacked & vandalised the car Owen Oyston was in. Our daring reporter failed to mention this fact, that it was Blackpool against Blackpool in her front page 'scoop' that inferred that Morecambe fans were involved.
Dreadful reporting and I hope Morecambe FC & Morecambe fans receive an apology that is as prominent as the misleading headline that tarnishes our reputation as a family-friendly club".

Nothing could be further from the truth as it was Blackpool fans who did this, but nowhere in the story does Ms Sherlock make reference to this.
Also, the story implies "mass violence" broke out outside our ground too, which again, is absolute bollocks.
So many people will have read this garbage and thought "give The Globe a wide berth".
Like I say earlier on this thread, we need an apology from this rag.
