Wild Bill wrote:Great turnout tonight. Looked a lot more than the 2542 official crowd. No way they could fit in an extra 3900. Don't think there was room for 3000.
PMG a sell-out apparently. Met a guy walking away disgruntled and had to go in the Omega with my sis who has some probs standing. Saw loads of empty seats though including a bock of white seats next to C1.
Think we need more seats on the north side for big games and to accommodate bigger away followings. Hopefully these office block plans don't stop this from happening.

For a match against a Premier League team, on a pleasant summer evening, with reduced admission, I'm pretty disappointed with that attendance.

I remember driving back up from Uni to watch them play Hull in the FA Cup in 1991-92 season. Christie Park was jam pack full that day.
Great effort from the team though. Surprised I didn't wake the Mrs (and a few neighbours) up when we hit the bar at the end.

Wild Bill wrote:Definitely need more seats available to home fans. As I saw, some fans would rather turn their backs and walk home than stand, which with the ground at 40% capacity is rediculous. With the restricted view seats, away ones and those lost to segregation I reckon we only have about 1300 available to home fans. We need another 1000 or so building on the opposite side next to the community block. These offices proposed could surely be built on the land at the front?

Based on current attendances I disagree. We can't afford to build extra seats for the 1 match every couple of years where the main stand sells out. Tickets were available for the main stand a week before the match, both in the shop and online.

Yes and attendances won't grow with an approach like that. 2500 is hardly a huge crowd but if fans are walking away or being forced to stand despite their health conditions, we need to look at facilities we can offer and try better to give them what they want. More seats give more options also to take bigger away followings, which even in League 2 could be exploited every season.

Bonkers!
