And nope, I'm not old enough to have been there.....!!

I seem to remember a fixture backlog because of the FA Trophy run and beating a Man United team then losing to Man City in the final both at Christie soon after the Wembley final

HOWEVER. Opinion aside, we received £75,000 for entering. I believe we also receive an x number of thousand for winning (?10,000), drawing and losing and then progressing (if we did). Plus gates (which of course, granted, won't be much). So if we like it or not, this cup now IS important. And boy do we need the money. Let's support the lads.

Phil Anderer wrote:I'm not going to resort to unnecessary inflammatory language, and I do accept that people will see things differently, but in my opinion it is highly important for the fans NOT to support this competition, this year, in this format. Doing so legitimises the inclusion of the B teams, and strengthens the Prem clubs' argument for incorporating them into the league. The only reason they are in this tournament is because the Prem clubs have bought their way in, bribing the poorer clubs with their TV money. In actual fact, the club might be better off this year than last before any ticket sales are taken into account, due to that bribe. The best, and only, way we can express our dissatisfaction with the inclusion of the B teams is not to attend, and in that way we are actually supporting our club, because we're seeking to ensure this experiment isn't extended.
RapidShrimp wrote:The problem is though, if you don't attend any of the three matches, it will just look like that is our regular attendance, but if only the Stoke game is missed by people, then it will be far more obvious in what we want.
