Bury Predictions, Checkatrade Trophy, Tues.

Postby Sakhalin Shrimp » Sat Aug 27, 2016 8:22 pm

The games are played over 90 mins and in the event of a draw then it's straight to penalties so predictions for the end of normal time please.

1-0 Shrimps win.
Mrs Sak goes 2-2.

Bury did well today and came back from 3 down at Walsall to draw.
But I'm still going for a Morecambe win
Bury 1 - 3 Morecambe

Depends upon who can put out the weakest team! Unfortunately, because our squad size is so much smaller than theirs, we'll have to put out a stronger team, so we'll win.

2-0 to us.

3-3. Us to win in ET or pens, crowd of 1977, with 402 from Bury. 15 pies left over at full time.

No extra time mate. You get a point for a draw, then a bonus point for winning the shoot out.

I will go 1.1

Going 2-1 loss... - Last time there was a 2-1 it was vs another Lancashire team (Blackpool) but that was at home. So to continue my bizaare logic, this is away so I'm reversing the result to a loss not a win.

BURY 2-1 MORECAMBE

When you said 400 Bury fans i presumed you knew they were at home. There will be a few calculator buttons being pressed after the crowds are announced

Struggling to generate any interest or enthusiasm fo rthis trophy, given it's now the first step in introducing Premiership B teams to the football league.

Bury 0 - 0 Morecambe

The teams are going to be as enthusiastic as me.

The only reason I care about this one is that we need to keep the momentum going. 2 games a week is tough going with our small squad.

Might as well go 2-2 again. It's going to happen sometime :?

I couldn't care less.
Its a two bit comp designed to let the junior players at the big boy clubs get some competitive action as opposed to u21 /academy football which is virtually a non contact sport.
I would put our u18s out.........and keep our limited squad fresh and injury free.
We have bigger fish to fry.

I expect a number of changes tonight.

IN: Nizic; McGowan; Mullin; Turner; Hedley; Molyneux; Kenyon.

Also depending on their fitness Winnard and Wildig. Probably to soon for Murphy.

Still a strong team to face a Bury team probably seeking revenge for the pre season defeat.

Apparantley Competition rules dictate that FIVE players who played in the 3-2 win against Accrington have to be involved but some claim the threat of £50,000 fines for clubs who do not adhere to the rules are unworkable.

By the same token, Bournemouth were said to have sold out for their visit to us last week and there was plenty of empty seats in their area.

People may be buying them to guarantee priority purchase for Premier League games.
