I agree that we need to be patient until more information is available. Pointless to speculate too much at the moment.

However .......................... we need some Samba music ready for when we take to the field on Saturday and some of those crispy little Brazilian pasties should sell well along with our more traditional pies. :D :D

He told me that he intends to move to the area and was looking for property "a football club is at the heart of the community, so it is important that I'm part of that community". He's heading up a consortium of Qatari businessmen, so not just him buying in to the club I don't think.

Just been announced on the Sports News on BBC North West TV that Diego has bought 80% of the shares and that significantly Peter McG WILL have an important role in the club.

Excellent news about Peter...as well as the purchase.

Let's just hope that there are no unforeseen problems in the takeover.

Some of us met him after the Blackpool game. I think a little more got said than was perhaps intended at the time and we were sworn to secrecy. Paul's 'selfie' was from that evening. Was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen!

I wonder if he's bought all of PMcG's shares, and who else holds shares in the club?

Yes I heard he was getting rather pissed with a director after the Blackpool game and being introduced as the new owner.

He wasn't drunk, or at least, he didn't appear so. Someone else however, was rather well gone! He was however, very happy! :D

Twas not in any of my Posts did I ask that question about who holds shares in the club.

As a Shareholder I'm already aware who holds shares.

Relax Neil !!

I quoted it wrongly as it's difficult on an iPhone...!!

I got a letter about a fortnight ago advising about a share issue which prompted me to think that a deal was very imminent.

The guy he was with was very entertaining  ... he completely gave the game away (IMO) when he said

"we are here on business" -

"what business"

(no reply and a smirk) "you played well today"

Yes, good blah blah for 10 minutes.

then..

"I believe we are playing Portsmouth on Tuesday"

"WE" - ahaaa - gotcha lololol

(oops time to get taxi to Manchester)

Think they ended up going into town

Very early days, need to keep the feet on the ground. If he replicates Copacabana beach and has volleyball before the home games I am sure the crowd will double in no time :D
