I spotted a company online which was formed in May under the name of G50 Holdings with Diego as sole director. Another company which he started at the same time is Sports 99 or something.
Contact addresses for them is somewhere in the North East - well, they have a DH (Durham) post code anyway - but that could just be an accountants or something.

I want the new owners to take a big involvement with the day to day running of the football club, perhaps even bring in their own people to do this. From the outside we are clearly terribly managed off the field; Accrington Stanley with comparable gates and wage budget (although I have heard one club employee say that they 'blow us out of the water' when it comes to what they can offer in wages) yet without all the off-field revenue streams that our club has, Accy breakeven or make a small manageable loss each sesson. At the same time we post an £800k taxable loss which is clearly unsustainable without continued financial backing; we need to be less reliant on a few wealthy individuals to plug the gap.

Full of appreciation for PMG, but its time for a new direction and if he stays he needs to be onboard with that.

I think the last accounts Accrington filed at Companies House showed a Loss of around £400,000.

Sounds like I'm not the only one to be fannying around being an amateur detective.

As Marky 'Sherlock' No.1 points out there are 29 companies registered there, although further investigation shows that it is a private home that is up for sale. Explains the Geordie's with him and in the pub. Here it is:

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/pro ... r-11328123

Anyone interested in Diego's working life should read this with translation (there should be one in Chrome). http://globoesporte.globo.com/futebol/f ... obson.html.

There's also rather old Twitter and YouTube accounts knocking about. However he doesn't seem to have much of a 'digital footprint'.

Well said again. Accy's new owners have invested in facilities for home terrace fans while ours are deteriorating. The Community block needs a lick of paint and more as was painfully obvious today.

The sale of most of our land, the development of the land next door and the Roman Catholic Church land means there isn't much room to improve the offer or generate additional revenues, so it is going to take someone smart to improve our financial performance.

The plan for PMG to stay on is welcome for a handover and let Diego find his feet. However if we keep things as they are we know it isn't sustainable. Hopefully he'll be free to eventually put his own people, plan and money into place. Interesting times.

I agree.. dont just want money thrown at it, better to be as self sufficient as possible - something we are miles away from as it is at the moment.
Hope he plans to stay around and get involved, seeing 1st hand what the problems are

Can anybody tell me what "subject to EFL consent" actually means. I assume that certain financial checks will be carried out, but is there any link to a written statement about what these EFL checks are in detail, and also how long this might take?

They do checks to ensure that club owners pass a "fit and proper person" test.

I think it will be a fairly quick process and should be a formality.

The Oystons , Venkys and Stephen Vaughan sailed through the tests so obviously not too comprehensive !

Thanks Gone-Shrimping.

Your comments about certain other club owners is exactly what I was thinking when I posted. Makes you wonder why the EFL bothers!!!

Looking forward to getting their "official OK" though as I'm sure (and hope) we shall then start to find out much more about his plans and ideas for the future.

Just been a superb interview on Radio Lancashire with Darren Clifford about the deal.

Good points were made about foreign owners of clubs where some foreign owners (Leicester City) communicate with their fans on a regular basis, whilst some (Blackburn Rovers) fans never, ever hear from their owners (Venky's) at all.

Lets hope we fit into the former category - and I'm sure we will. :D

The mansion also has football shirts above on one of the many fireplaces (in the room with the pool table). This makes it even clearer that this is one of his.

Obviously a cheapskate. Crap pool table and he hasn't bothered to finish the wall off, maybe the dartboard was in the way
