Summary of today's game?

They were a very good side but they could have put out their under 10s and they would have beaten us today, we were absolutely shocking. We could barely string two passes together, the defending as a team was shambolic, and half of them didn't look interested for large spells of the game.

The lack of enthusiasm and motivation from Jim on the bench was also very disappointing, as others have noted. The substitutions were bizarre and resulted in half the team playing out of position, although from the post match interview it was apparently to create width.

Stockton took his goal very well but it probably changed the half time team talk. As a result, nothing changed second half and in fact we got worse.

Last week I felt positive as I thought we gave it a good go and it was entertaining to watch. Today was a complete joke.

Another worrying thing for me was the fact that it appeared three of the exec boxes were completely empty today (one filled with our injured players). What are the commercial department actually spending their time doing? If we can't sell them for a game like today and we have to give them away for most other games, its no wonder we're in a mess financially.

Tactically inept.
One plan fits all and when it fails we are f*cked.
todays subs/movement of players said it all.The "plan"was try to limit how many they got, not get some of our own.

After some great results in August I feel like we have returned to last season all over again.

Why?:

Inept tactics, as mentioned earlier- strange formation and substitutions
Manager looking bereft of ideas hence why he remains glued to his seat
Hoof ball football as there is no plan b
Lack of desire and commitment from many players- over relying on Kev again

Yes Doncaster were excellent today and deserve to be up there at the end of the season, but the lack of desire and commitment from many players was particularly disappointing.
I really hope Jim can motivate them for next weeks trip to Cambridge but I feel that even he didn't know what to do today.

Maybe something to do with thre takeover has happened behind the scenes that has unsettled him and he now feels his days are numbered.

Jim's body language today was dreadful.

Ferguson was on the edge of his technical area all match directing operations and encouraging his players.

In the matches at the Globe earlier this season Jim too was on the edge of his technical area shouting out orders.

Today he was slumped in a seat looking as p*ssed off as the fans !

Well I made a post after the Portsmouth game that we were allowing the opposition to get far too many attempts on goal and we wouldn't keep on getting away with it and today that is what happened, Dunn doesn't get back enough to help out in midfield and as someone posted on the match thread the wide players need to tuck in when we don't have possession. Jim and Ken sat there comparing notes for five minutes at half time before going down the tunnel what did that achieve, chuck the notepad away Jim and get on the touch line like other managers.

Well ive just got in and expected loads of moaners after a right good tonking..
Having read all the posts on various threads I have to say that nobody has actually "moaned" and virtually everyone has put it into perspective without being swathing

1. Doncaster were good, couldn't get the ball off them for long periods and they made us look like schoolboys.
2. We were sh!t
3. No appetite
4. subs and timing of were crap. One was a total shambles when the wrong players swapped over.
5 .manager spends a long time on arse
6. atmosphere crap
7. New owners will have been out buying axe
8. Barky, when we need some umph up front, gets put at right back :? :?
9. Referee was in their pocket

We now play Cambridge where we got embarrassingly whacked 7.0 not long ago. They are bottom without a win. OMG
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Agree with Berlinwaller. Reminded me a lot of last season. Defensively we were a shambles. Look at all of their goals- we were asleep from the corner, Edwards' horrendously unlucky but still poor attempt at a clearance for the second, the third and fourth were very similar with people flying in for tackles that they were never going to win and the final one was again, just like last year, backing off, backing off, oh it's gone in!
I don't really understand the Liam Wakefield bashing though from some people. Apart from today, I think he's been a solid performer for the team. Was he injured today? Was that why Jim put barky there?? Jennings didn't look great it has to be said. The Cheltenham fans were not exactly sorry to see him go after a matter of weeks. Let's give him a chance though.
A truely awful day to be a shrimp but let's look at the bigger picture- we are 8th in the table. I know after looking at the fixture list at the start of the season, I was expecting up to be right down there in the bottom few places. Let's hope the boys can pull themselves up and give Cambridge a good go next week. COYS!

We are 7th.

A point below Doncaster and 4 points above Accrington.

I find that hard to believe as Ken was on the touchline!

However generally when Jim or Ken is actually on the touchline, they seem to spend more time argueing with officals and making loads of notes in their notebooks than actually watching the game.

I thought JB was trying to catch the Pokemons in the stadium! We should ask the makers to put some up and down the technical area in future for a bit of movement!!
Don't worry be happy!

Not whilst Jim was on the phone during the early and later stages of the game, he wasn't! I could see him in the directors' box during these times, presumably up there for the view, but it's never looked good seeing Jim sitting back in his seat, unlike his opposite number who was patrolling his technical area for most of the game. I'm beginning to wonder who's who between our manager and assistant at times...

I get the whole sitting in the directors box as its a better view thing. There are lots of Managers that do it so it is nothing new. What gets me though is that it is normally the Manager sat up there barking orders to his assistant and calling the shots, not the other way round!

Three games to get back to the shambles of last season. Players, like at Grimsby, looked underprepared and not ready for the onslaught. Total joke from start to finish. If we can perform like we did to get Jimbo his award why all of a sudden have we gone backwards? Too much tinkering again and how did Kenyon stay on when clearly on his last warning. He couldn't make another challenge for the rest of the game so was useless. Barky at right back was just an insult to everyone's intelligence.

I luv Jimbo and Ken. Unlike some I've got a lot of respect for what they have done here. And no I wasn't joining in the singing at Grimsby. But having said that, and with a new owner (allegedly!) coming in, it's surely time for everyone to wake up and realise that although Donny were excellent, no one is immune from criticism when suffering that kind of nightmare.

Staying in this league is the number one priority and the last two games simply weren't at the levels we need to be playing at. Taking Cambridge and Crawley lightly will also be totally unacceptable.

Hardly surprising when none of the players nor Jim looked up for it. Very poor of Jim to sit on his backside most of the game looking disinterested. No wonder the players weren't bothered and that rubs off on the spectators too. Right from kick off, no one was bothered, fans, players nor management. Disgraceful all round really.

Went straight down the tunnel at full time as well, at least the players acknowledged the fans. Even when we have won games recently Jim hasn't gone anywhere near the Omega stand.

Why would you when most of the support can't wait to hang you win lose or draw?

At some point the rest of this parish will start asking the proper questions like this.
