Is it not that the "glory hunters" would actually like to have a little enjoyment for their £17 rather than the piss that's been served up for the majority of the last 3 years?

I'd hazard a guess that most people on here are season ticket holders, so pay their money upfront, forget about it, and then it doesn't matter so much if the match isn't great. If you've just paid £17 and you get a performance like Saturday, it's much fresher in your mind, and it doesn't take many of them in a row for you to find something more entertaining to spend your dosh on.

Glory hunters is very harsh on a lot of former fans who frankly , found something better to do, over the last few years, as for ''glory'' , it's been spread a bit thin over the last 50 years !

The club needs all the paying punters it can muster, regardless of whether or not they're glory hunters. In fact, it's probably glory hunters who will be the make or break of the club, as to survive they're who we need. The club has no future at all based on 1000-1500 "hard core" or "real" supporters.

The first home match against Blackpool , the team came from behind and put in a really good performance to beat a team who had been signing strikers of the calibre of Matt (from Fleetwood) and Vassall(from Posh).

The next home match we beat the best team in the division Portsmouth 2 nil in a really exciting game.

Then we more than matched a Premier League side in the EFL Cup and were very unlucky not to get extra time.

The game against Orient although we lost , the team put in a workmanlike performance and tried their hardest without ever looking as though they were at their best.

Have we played a game this season where you can honestly say we weren't massively outdone in terms of possession and chances created?

Orient is the nearest one I can think of but from what I've seen our positive results have come via excellent performances from Baz, horrendous finishing from the opposition, and clinical counter attacking from ourselves.

There's only so long you can go surrendering possession / giving the opposition lots of chances before something like Saturday happens.

It may be a case that Jim thinks on paper our team is pretty much second best to every other side in the division so our only hope is to treat every game as such and setup like a team in a cup game playing against a team from a higher division?

Give me (or indeed Posh or someone with that kind of background) 12 months and I'd guarantee you 2000 through the gate as an average, possibly 2500.

There wouldn't be a wallplanner in sight, and most of the old guard would hate it, and I doubt the management team would enjoy the work I'd be asking them to put in but I'd manage it. I'd sell every single last bit of what the club has space wise on advertising hoardings and things we could charge a few hundred quid for.

The glory hunter tag was not meant to be an insult to anybody, I apologise on that front.

What I mean is, IMO, a large majority would return if we were winning, top of the table sort of situation come May. I do believe 2400 is achievable and stand by that we would have to be in a winning situation in league one. Improbable but theoretically possibly.

Would be nice to hear what you would do but nevertheless a great post. In the small group that I go to games with we have a marketing professional, a sales manager for a large multinational and somebody who has worked with the largest venues, festivals and stadiums in the country. All would give up time to help the club and at least 2 of us have offered in the past.

Surely this should have been what the fans board was about? Instead we get the keyboard warriors and those in the know invited along to re-name the bar. Complete waste of time.

As others are posting the home attendance was just as worrying as the performance on saturday.Where have the fans? gone since the Bournmouth game,Orient was ok a battling effort but why we had such a low attendance sat is baffling.Was talking today to a freind who runs a local youth team and he said the club had offered free tickets for the Crawley match to the local youth league.Dont know what else they have to do ,maybe target the unis,they are soon back,give them freebies? but the reality is we need more through the gates and quick or we will soon see a crowd of less than 1000

They've done that before though havn't they and it didn't work then either. Does anyone know if they're giving them out to all the other schools in the area, such as in Lancaster, Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Kirkby Lonsdale, etc - an awful lot of Morecambe/Heysham kids don't go to Morecambe nor Heysham High - there are about 8 or 9 buses from Morecambe/Heysham/North Lancaster to Dallam at Milnthorpe for example - that's over 400 kids! Several hundred will be travelling daily from Morecambe to lancaster for the grammars, Ripley and Our Lady's.

Surely it would be best to rotate the schools over several years rather than keep handing them out to the same very local school(s). Desperate need to broaden the club's catchment area. My lad has never been given anything from MFC and has never seen any of the MFC coaches in either of his schools.

I remember getting a free season ticket in my final year at Skerton Primary School.
Didn't end up going to a single game which looking back was easily one of the worst decisions I have made given that this was in 2006 (If it is any consolation that also makes me feel old).

Still I'm a season ticket holder now thanks to the freebie game against Dagenham a few seasons ago.

Completely agree with comments about the communication committee, full credit to The Omega Man and the HR Guru for chairing these... but it's been set up incorrectly from the start and has the wrong people involved on it IMO. So far they have achieved nothing.

I think the club trotted out something about having kids unaccompanied by adults inside the ground, hence why they stopped the free season tickets for primary school leavers. To be honest, I can sort of understand this although it is the method that got me into regularly attending games when I started MHS in 1998. The family ticket deals (3 kids go free with an adult, thereby meaning kids aren't unaccompanied in the ground) is a good deal IMO - although it would be interesting to know how success these are and if they have attracted any new fans.

This should have been something to get fans involved in the club, help the club do things better and ultimately bring the fans and the club closer together again.

I am another who was hooked with a season ticket from Primary School - so it did work!

Trying to entice High School kids with free tickets is a good idea in theory but by that age, they're old enough to know better! (I mean that tongue in cheek but with a degree of seriousness - sadly).

If I had a pound for every time this subject came up I'd have £437. Possibly.

However if I had £100 million I'd probably move to a sun drenched Caribbean island. However before I went I'd do the following. Rebuild the home terrace so it is taller and steeper with some decent facilities and sweep it round so it connects to the Main Stand. I'd sort out the back of the away terrace. I'd do a development of office blocks along the Berlin Wall side and add a roof in the process. I'd then set about turning it into a home rather than the home of concrete - legends walls, huge murals, fund the making of banners. I'd then slash home prices to £10 for the terrace and £15 seating. I'd give out free car stickers, cut the price of kids kits and support youth football with funding. It would cost a rack of money to do but with the aim of growing support.

Before heading off to Antigua I'd set up a membership system, let's say £300 a year that got you into the ground for all league matches, discount card to spend at the ground and in town, a vote in club elections and then when it's working effectively I'd transfer ownership to the members (as they do in Spain). They would then vote in a President who they would fleece of their money for a few years. Meanwhile I'd take my now £40 million off to Barbados and listen to Shrimps Player while eating pie and peas.
