Hi everyone.
Not been on here in a while but drop in from time to time to keep up with the latest topics.
I am missing my first home match for four years tomorrow
As some of you know a group of my friends decided to get a bit fitter last year and take on some challenges. Last year we did Born Survivor and some small 5k runs.
This year we ramped it up a bit and did Blackpool Half Marathon in April and have done 5k and 10k runs throughout the year. At 47 years old I have broken personal records of both distance and time this year, but its hard work!
Tomorrow we take on the BIG one again. Born Survivor! http://www.born-survivor.com/events/BS8-manchester-sept-24th-2016.php
10km of pure hell! Why? Two reasons. The first is a selfish one. It has given us a goal and kept us off the couch a bit. the second is more important. We are raising money and awareness for St.John's Hospice in Lancaster. As a group we have pledged to raise £2,000 by year end. St.John's is a fantastic organisation that is run purely on donations. It provides an essential service predominately for cancer sufferers towards the end of their lives, but also for their families too. If you have been unfortunate enough to have a loved one that has used St John's I don't need to tell you what they do. It is a scandal that they are not Government funded!
If you could spare a couple of quid (that's all) for this great cause I would personally be grateful and it would spur me on tomorrow when i should be at The Globe! If you would consider it, please click on the link below. Thanks!
