Good news Friday: Academy upgrade

There's also this: http://www.morecambefc.com/news/article ... 23470.aspx

I think the main thing to take from that is the last paragraph where we are looking to upgrade to a category 3 academy.

According to this: https://www.goalreports.com/EPLPlan.pdf a category 4 academy (which we currently have) costs £285k to run whereas a category 3 can cost anywhere between £315k to £540k.

Upgrading to a category 3 academy would mean we'd go from £100k of funding to £210k of funding.

Presumably we'd run it at the lower end of the scale but receive more funding so therefore the cost to the football club would be less?

I've split the two 'Good News Friday' threads, so they can develop along the two different subjects.

This is excellent news. Hopefully the academy can develop further and start to unearth local gems.

So how did that work out then?

The plans for the club to build a dormitory are related to the new Academy rating.
