I'd have thought you'd be delighted if he left?

I'd like to think that Jim will have already had a few discussions with Diego about the future, such as any increases in the players' wages budget and also whether Diego sees a long term future with Jim & Ken. If Diego has been able to give good vibes to Jim about a higher budget and that he wants to keep Jim & Ken, then I'd like to think Jim will stay. However, if Diego is being vague about money increases or maybe has already suggested Jim & Ken don't have a future here, then a move to Tranmere is fairly likely. Also, if there are rumours about a move, then it sounds like there'll have already been informal discussions and rumours usually have some substance.

If PMG is still running the club as has been mooted then Jim will be reporting to him.

Its probably best all round if tranmere come for Jim that he does go. If things don't work out nearer the end of the season for him here then if Diego wants someone else in we'd have to pay Jim off were if tranmere want him then we'll get compensation to go and look for a new manager ! Jim must be thinking to himself what foreign owners are like if things don't work out too if Diego bought the club this time last year then Jim definitely wouldn't be here now ! It's going to be an interesting few days I think !

If Jimbo does go to Tranmere then I hope we can negotiate to keep Cole Stockton as part of the deal.

For me it's totally understandable if Jimbo wants to leave, he has a young family and Tranmere is on his doorstep..... although I'm sure it will be with a heavy heart if he does move on.

No chance of that happening. First thing Jim would do is make sure Cole returns to tranmere in January he's been our best player so far this season !

Hope not. Some people need to be careful what they wish for...

So how did that work out then?

Best move for everyone. Jim gets a good move for himself and we can bring in a new Manager with new ideas. It looks like Diego has a bit of ambition and Jim's mantra of never too high never too low hasn't impressed our new owner!

On what are we basing this on, or did I miss something glaringly obvious??

Club legend but we need this to be true for the steady rise of our club and the respect we have for jim to go out in the nicest way. Fresh new outlook. Better managers out there.

Bentley and McKenna – who are both based in Birkenhead – also have offers from clubs in both their own division and above.

Which makes the "New Manager But Who?" thread pointless...

Don't go just yet Jim. Lets see what Diago's £££s can do for your playing budget and see if we can actually crack on in January.
