New manager? Nope not this week!

Postby Kendalshrimp » Mon Sep 26, 2016 8:07 pm

So it looks like jims time at Morecambe is coming to end if tonight's reports are true. We've all wanted a change in recent months including myself and now it looks like the clubs going to have a full makeover. Who's out there who we could attract realistically ? I hope we go for someone with experience rather than someone like Robbie fowler hoping to get into management and using a club our size as their way in !

We haven't all wanted a change.

Might be an idea to correct that bit please.

By "we" if you mean the mainly negative posters on here, then fair enough. If you mean Morecambe fans in general, I would bet you're way, way off the mark. I hope there's nowt in the rumors and he's still with us, keeping us in League Two for a long time.

With a very important game against Barnet to prepare for what is this BS doing on here. Jim and Ken deserve a bit better than this post. Try getting behind the team and the gaffer. Nothing official. Just speculation.

Speculation and rumour is what all club forums thrive on.

This is highly disrespectful, not just to Jim, although primarily so, but also to the hundreds of Morecambe fans who don't want Jim to go. I know I posted a great deal of annoyance on here last season, although I think I stopped just short of calling on Jim to go (maybe not, I honestly can't remember), but this season so far we are playing a more attacking, entertaining style of football which I think will comfortably keep us in League 2, if we keep on as we are. Instead of looking at the scoreboard and thinking 'how much more of this dross have I got to endure?' I'm thinking 'bladdy hell, we've already been playing that long?' Long may that continue. I've only seen one truly poor performance this year, and that was against Doncaster. I think we'll easily get the 12 wins we need to stay up. Hopefully Jim will also get a little more money to spend on the squad in January, and help us improve that bit more.

Maybe the new owner will be expecting more than just looking forward to winning 12 games a season?
If I had just stumped up a few bob to buy a footy club, the sight of what remains of our fan base heading for the exit with time to be played would concern me!

I don't disagree, and I'd love to see 20 home wins a season. The points I'm making are that not everyone wants to see Jim leave, as stated by kendalshrimp, and that we are playing more entertaining football so far this season, and once it's hopefully right, we'll see more wins too. I'd love to be challenging for promotion, heck I've even got a bet on it this season, but Jim's never had the budget to do that, if we're honest, and survival is still an achievement.

If id bought into a football club that had a good young manager whod been doing well and keeping the team steady and in the league with a small budget the first thing id want do do is see what he could do with the investment id planned.

Funny how 99% of the people posting in this thread haven't been calling for Jim to go

So how did that work out then?
