Checkatrade cup thingy

less than a week to go before the cup tie and still no mention of ticket sales. You can go onto the online ticket sales but it seems the season ticket seats are already greyed out.
Is it open to fans or are they playing it behind closed doors ??

They don't always put ticket news on the website so sometimes you're left to find out for yourself, Yeovil away being an example. Nothing about Notts County away on Saturday either...

Edit: they have changed their mind and now giving free coach travel - lets hope we have enough room for them all

If enough people attend these games then the re-jig could be deemed a success which could in turn bring about league reconstruction allowing these under 23 sides into the league system, so giving your support to the team in this competition could in the long term end up having a detrimental effect on our club.

That's just my point of view so I won't be attending.

Exactly. I usually attend all midweek fixtures but this one in particular (against a Prem B team) really deserves boycotting. Voting with our feet is the only way to send a clear message to the authorities. Looking at the crowds for the first round of fixtures many fans have done the same, so we need to do our bit otherwise this 'experiment' will get the rubber stamp.

If fans are worried about the Club's revenue then they can purchase other things from the club, but for this fixture I think we really need to make a stand.

I will be there supporting my team. Didn't the football league announce last week that the under 23 idea has been scrapped. They now looking at restructuring with possibly 4 less teams in each league! I think that is more worrying

Four teams less in each league, but they will create an additional league (4 FL divisions below the Premiership) and invite 8 teams from the existing non-league system to join. Personally I like this idea if they also regionalise the bottom step of the FL - thus reducing travel costs for the bottom division and maintaining the current number of steps in the structure. It would benefit Morecambe because we would have more local games, but I think clubs will need to be convinced how reduction in the number of games won't impact their revenue.

Yeah, to set off lunchtime on a Tuesday and come back with road closures etc to be in bed for 4am, having paid £25 to watch 4th tier football is a lot to ask. 2 days off work for some
