How has a team from a village gone from getting 600 crowds (when we played them) to getting 2200 for a league game against Barrow? We need to have a look how they do things.

Looks very simple:
Chairman - " more people are coming to FGR to watch and enjoy the matchday experience . These are 2 things we've improved and fans are voting with their feet"
Manager - "the cornerstone to this plan is to play football with the ball on the ground and to be brave"
"When we have the ball we want to attack at every opportunity and score more goals than the opposition. If this leaves us open to counter attack sometimes then so be it"
"The word is : come to the New Lawn and see football how it should be played - by a very young , honest and athletic group of players"
"Bring your friends and tell them to bring their friends"

They have had a few decent cup runs and spent a good time in the play off positions, all this helps..

Their average is 1390, which is 400 more than it was 5 years ago. There are 7 or 8 National League Clubs with attendance higher than ours
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

What was our attendance when we played them? Also I think we would have more than 2200 if we played Barrow in the league.

Having a chairman who ploughs millions into the club and outspends everyone else in the division therefore they have a team that consistently finishes there or there abouts in the league and win more often than they don't.

All this talk about match day experience etc is a red herring. They have a good team that wins games, that's the reason their crowds are up from the days we used to play them.

So roughly the same. there averaging 1200 this year... ours is 2000 according to http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/leaguetwo/attendances

And we've been a league club 10 years they have not. So maybe there thinking "We need to have a look how they do things." ?

Barrow v Forest Green... 474 mile round trip.
Barrow v Morecambe... 94 mile round trip.

There might be a slight reason why we would get more than 2,200 v Barrow

Always enjoyed my trips to both the old and new Lawns. Had a great clubhouse and fans and staff were always very friendly and approachable. Matchday experience certainly comes into it. Lets face it ours is still crap but wouldn't take a lot to improve. Winning football though and being in an affluent area also helps a lot.

Aren't their food outlets all vegan? I've got a vague recollection of reading that. It would screw up our pie sales!
