Thought the pre match on field welcome shown by the fans to the club's joint Chairmen was excellent.

Just a pity that the game didn't provide the result we all wanted but have to say that for me Carlisle were not 3 goals better than us.

Liked the way Diego and Abdul appeared for M.O.M. and made a speech, nice guys and openly talking to fans. Nobody knows for sure how they will go forward but Abdul knows "how to kick ass" and apparently he has already started.
I am looking forward to the next chapter.

It was good to see the new owners at the game to see us lose our fourth consecutive home league game. They haven't paid their millions to see us relegated and their investment wasted and yet our defensive awfulness suggests we are going to be in a relegation fight. I suspect they will give it until Christmas before the axe falls and there is blood on the carpet. I still think they will be puzzled by bizarre team selections and odd substitutions. Essential we try and keep Stockton who looks quality. Is it time to look at the goalkeeping situation? Regular errors are costing us.

Fair play to them if the plan is to get fully involved. Fresh eyes will see things for what they are. Those that are good at their job have nothing to worry about, but I imagine there will be no room for sentiment for those that don't meet the standards required to kick the club onwards.

These guys haven't come in to see us continue being "Little Morecambe" , happy to reach 50 points and then relax. They don't want to hear about fine lines or never too high and never too low.

They want to see us in the Championship like Burton and they are thinking of ways to increase the fan base.

It is going to be a very interesting period.

I really struggle to see their motivation, unless they want to turn a large pile of money into a small one. Is there some clever tax loophole that can be had or something?

What will be will be. Suggest we fasten our safety belts as the ride could be bumpy but we'll worth iit to see where the sword falls...it may already have started and not before time some would say.

Football clubs have long been a hobby for people who have more money than they know what to do with. There doesn't necessarily need to be an agenda or a reason for it other than they have a passion for football and would genuinely enjoy spending their own money on running a football club.

My comments about bizarre team selection and substitutions, questioned by Keith include
1. Mullen playing from kick off as a wide man- I am sure that is not his best position
2. Dunn rested on bench when we need goals
3. Wakefield fit enough to be on bench but not playing
4. The shape of the side- we don't seem to have the players to fit the shape the manager wants us to play
5. Massanka an unnecessary questionable signing given he only plays a few minutes a game
6. Why does Barkhuizen go to full back when we need goals
7. We don't have a plan B- it's more of the same even though its not working
8. Substitutions imo are invariably made too late with little time to impact on the game
9. Some players seem immune from being substituted even though they are playing badly

I think there's enough there to back up my original comments!

Although it is possible to set up a group of companies where one makes a loss to set against profits of others, I can't imagine the purchase of MFC is done as a tax loophole as you have to lose money to get tax relief, usually at a smaller rate, say 20%, so it's hardly sound business sense to lose a million to save £200k off your tax bill. But, you never know...

More likely they're football supporters who fancy owning a club, maybe as something a little bit more than a hobby, maybe as a foot-in to the UK football society (i.e. chances to meet and socialise with famous footballers). MFC is probably the cheapest league club to buy with the added advantage of the real estate. No-one really knows and it will take a few years to see how it pans out.

Must admit, the signs are good with Diego and the new bloke giving the impression that they're going to be hands on and not just financial backers behind the scenes. I've said many times (as have others) that MFC needs more than just money - it needs new ideas - and it needs some of the deadwood being trimmed. Sounds like the new bloke is going to be managing the club on a day to day basis which will hopefully lead to change.

I suspect that some wealthy Qatari folk may fancy having a club ahead of the World Cup. We didn't know much about Peter McGuigan before he came to us. On the basis that I have no say in the matter anyway, I'd rather stay optimistic!

In answer to Fulwood shrimp, some fair points well made, across the season rather than just yesterday obviously.

1/2. Mullin set up as the man in behind Stockton yesterday and as such has a free role to play along the line either left right or middle. Exactly as his replacement Dunn did when he came on for me.
For me Dunn needed resting as he has been a passenger for his last few starts, but Jim can't please everybody.

4. We set up 3-5-2 against Stoke on Tuesday, as Jim was keen to see how we would cope. Inflexible?

6. Barkhuizen has dropped back to full back for the last 20 minutes against against Doncaster, hardly regular??

It's all about opinions obviously!
