How much can a meeting discuss in 15 minutes? Perhaps it was just a general introduction session.
Can't believe that Jim was at a meeting at half time  His place is in the dressing room then.

Good job they did it at half time then. He may have failed to turn up to the meeting if it had been after the second half show ;)

Is Jim a board member? I didn't think he was, so he wouldn't have been at the meeting.

The meeting was just to vote Abdul in, and lasted a matter of minutes, an approach is expected regarding permission to speak to Jim, which the board will not refuse.

Managers have met other clubs in the past and stayed where they are.

I guess it my depend on whether Jim has bought into Diago's plans for this superb club.

I think Jim would be better suited at keeping tge shrews up instead of getting tranmere promoted. His style is more about working hard and scrapping out results where as at tranmere to get promoted you would need to play a more attacking brand of football.

Maybe he's just never had another choice with us and it's unfair to say that's his style but to be honest even with better players I couldn't see Jim playing an open attacking game where you have to take the game to the opponent.

Of course, we can rely on what they say can't we....

Sam Elliott from the Non League Paper for example who tweeted that Jim had agreed an offer to take over as Tranmere manager the other week.....

Bentley, who was understood to have been given permission to talk to Salop about the post, revealed that he had not heard anything related to the position.

He said: “It’s nice to be linked with other jobs, but all I’m interested in is doing my job for Morecambe. As far as I’m concerned there is no approach, I’ve not heard anything.”

A Shrew fan reckons Jim was interviewed on Sunday !

This needs sorting this week , otherwise there will be a pantomime every time a lower league job in the North is vacant.

Even if Jim had been offered the job I assume the clubs would have to agree terms which may take time.

Insider info once again by the sounds of it.

If the Shrews want Jim then it's a compliment to him and the club that he's regarded so highly that they could be prepared to pay the Buy out Clause to get their man.

Jim deserves the chance like us all to better himself and whilst I'd be sad to see him go, no way would I begrudge him the chance to manage a club at a higher level...albeit at the moment.

I'd like to think that our new owners have already indicated to him their plans for team building and that those plans interest Jim going forward. BUT if given the chance to manager at League1 NOW is it a chance that may not come around again...... :?: :?: :?:

Having never really been mentioned for any vacancies in the last few years, Jim has been tipped for the first two since the takeover was finalised. Does Jim have an agent? Is he touting Jim about or is Jim putting his name out there?

Well he won't be going to Shrewsbury then as they won't pay a buy out clause, Mellon wasted too much money however 'if' Jim wants to go and they want him we would be fools not to negotiate his release otherwise we 'could' suffer

This article has just been published by the Shropshire Star:

http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/shr ... -town-job/

Basically an interview with someone who they describe as "one of Jims best pals" that he played with at Telford.

Some interesting quotes that read like a dig at Morecambe Football Club from someone with an axe to grind! Not quite sure what we've done to upset him.

"“From their point of view, they’d be very lost without Jim Bentley.

“Morecambe are a League Two club with home crowds below the Conference North, never mind the Conference. At the start of every season, they’re the whipping boys.

“They struggle at home with no crowd but they went to Notts County on Tuesday and won again. From Jim’s point of view you’d want to see what he was like with a real home base.”

“You do wonder, if he’d had the backing other managers have had, what he’d have been able to achieve.

“Are other managers going to do things that Jim can’t? I really don’t believe it.”

We won 3-0 away at Telford in March 2003, and Palmer was booked...
