It sounds like we had three really good chances and a penalty shout before they scored. Had we taken any one of those opportunities and gone a goal up, would we have grown in confidence and battered Stevenage? It sounded like we were playing okay until they scored, then became devoid of all ideas? Was it the width of the woodwork between a crap & happy Saturday evening?

Possibly that would have been the outcome but much more likely they would have pulled a goal back against the run of play then we would have sat deeper and deeper conceding late on to lose the game lets face it that has happened many times in the past. There just seems to be a total lack of confidence at home.

Beyond a joke now. Fans slated Sammy Mc when he had one bad season at home and was then forced out the door. Jim is now setting new lows after five and a quarter seasons of consistent crap home football. What other football club would put up with this dross?

The sad thing is young fans will have known nothing else. Our home crowds have halved since 2010 and its amazing we have managed to hold on to the other half, but there will come a tipping point. Yes we keep getting results on the road, but its a bit like if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it (or only 100 hardcore away fans), does it make a sound? Fans get accused of being fickle, disloyal or not seeing the bigger picture but if we rarely see the wins or good football, we will eventually get fed up.

For me it is now time to bring in a new manager to break this vicious circle of bad results and dwindling crowds that's killing the club. Jim, you are a legend, but it may be time to go to Shrewsbury.

I am at breaking point now. Yes we might have scored a couple in the first half but that is what poor teams do, let the other team off the hook and get beat. Moly hit the bar and Stockton could have had a couple but we were never running the show. They sussed us out, like every other team does at home. It was a disgrace how they passed it around totally unchallenged for the whole of the second half. It was like they had 15 players and we had put out our youth side. The substitutions were crazy and totally useless. Who changes the left FB for another left FB when you are chasing the game? Murphy was signed to be a midfield enforcer but he backed out of a 50/50 right in front of me towards the end before he needlessly clattered the goalie. Mullin is ineffective and a shadow of the player who burst on to the scene a few years back. What has the lad from Burnley got to do to get a game? It must be doing his confidence a world of good seeing the piss poor attacking displays and yet he can not get a kick!

I can not wait to read the usual propaganda from the usual suspects. How we "could" have won or how lucky we are to be where we are. It is all bollocks and almost cringe worthy now. Bentley can not and will not take this club anywhere. They paying public will vote with their feet and who the f@ck can blame them!?!??!!??! Go now Jim!

Another one of those games were we should of been 2 up before we was 1 down ! Too many passengers in this side who aren't consistent enough and think jim definitely got it wrong today in terms of team selection ! The thing is now jim knows if this type of form continues at home he won't have much longer left as the new board will definitely ring the changes if things don't improve. I hope our home form gets better as much as anyone but if not then I can't see jim being in charge this time next season !

Also no mark dixon at the game today either and heard a rumour he's left the club anyone know if this is true. ?

The paying public have voted with their feet over the last few years and will continue to do so. Unless there's a change, we're going to see less than 1,000 at home saturday matches this season.

Still can't believe the substitutions. Conlan for Jennings, Murphy for Rose - WTF is that about - you don't do like-for-like when you need to go on the attack!

Reverting to hoof-ball when the opposition have tall defenders is just about as stupid as you can get.

Ellison and Flemmo should have been brought off - both completely ineffective today.

It was nothing to do with low budgets today. It was crap tactics and crap substitutions that caused it. With the players we have, we could, and should, have easily won.

Jimbo is a liability.

No, you're not allowed to speculate wildly in a manner that could potentially lead to legal action. If you want to do that, crack on on Facebook where you can be the one getting sued personally.

Didn't say he was sacked, but with the fans turning on him so quickly after unprecedented success and PMG reportably offering him a pay cut and a reduced budget, I guess he felt the only way forward was via the exit door.

Jim deserves respect for everything he has done for the club, but the issue of consistently crap home form cannot be ignored anymore. He's had a 31% win rate and seen crowds nearly half since he took over in 2011.

Jim was brought into a club which had growing number of cuts stemming from Sammy's last season when he gambled alot of fiances on journeymen which hugely backfired on him if Jim gets a proper fiances he would improve us on the field with diego and Al Hashemi are as hands on this is the route that is required it is also a huge lift if new players such as a wingers and other areas of the pitch.

what would other managers do in jim position oh i know possibly resign with no spending cash that is how hard it has been even look at accy they thrown money after january to reach the playoffs/ autos we are not far way of competeing in the playoffs if the investment is there we have to use it.

yes i agree the team has stagnated over the years with the availble fianances at the time it is understandable as no other means of signing players on frees wich the club could afford at the time

I dont think anyone can question that jim is Morecambe F C through and through and was a superb leader and defender. However as a manager he has made over the years some very questionable team selections, substitutions and formations. Im not entirely sure if we had a fully fit squad to choose from that he would know his strongest starting 11 or his best formation. Although it is a factor you cant continually blame the lack of funds for the dross and sometimes lack of effort being played out on the pitch continually at home. People will vote with their feet and thats why the crowds at home are on a downward spiral. Ive supported morecambe for over 30 years and must admit that id attend every game i could if i wasnt working but in the last couple of years ive missed a few mid week games as ive questioned whether its worth paying the admission fee for the fare on offer. I hate to bring this up but i think someone like john coleman has a bit more nous where tactics are involved. To play devils advocat there cant be many people who honestly wouldnt swap jim for coley but i think that move is highly unlikely. We cant go on with such awful home form.and rely on our away form to stay up as some point our away form will go through a sticky patch.

Coleman was on Radio Lancs this evening saying how lucky they were to win today. To be fair, a very honest interview. During it, he mentioned the depth of squad that he has "Chris Eagles didn't even make the bench". I want to see Jim having a season where he has enough cash to sign the players that he wants. If we still produce the same crap at home, then fair enough, it would then be time to try something new. As it is, I still think he's doing an amazing job just keeping us in League Two.

With all due respect if you could have witnessed all of our home performances over the last couple of seasons then I doubt very much if you would even try to attempt to defend Jims position.

On the Morecambe FC official twitter there is a tweet showing the inside of Morecambe's dressing room and on the walls you can see signs with the slogan "If you can accept losing , you can't win" and "Winning isn't everything , it's the only thing". !!

Of course the budget has an impact on the team. And ANY manager should be able to improve a team with an increase in budget.

What is alarming fans is the seeming complete lack of Jim's ability to produce any kind of home result after the first couple of weeks of the season. The shambles in defence. Playing players out of position. Tactical cluelessness. Hoof ball. Where has the progression been in the last four years? Where has the acceptance been that what we are doing is not working?

We saw superb football against Bournemouth - one of the best displays I've ever seen a Morecambe team put in. Brilliant backs to the wall defending against Portsmouth - we all know this team is capable of much, much more than the last three or four home games suggest, so why is Jim not capable of producing more than a couple of good performances at home each season?

It's our home form that nearly saw us get relegated last season. It's our home form that saw us dumped out of the cup when it was almost impossible to lose last season and miss out on a huge pay day.

It can't go on forever, but the fans are justified in being worried at the malaise at the club that has seen it trundle on for four years without getting better. We mention falling budgets, but part of the reason our budgets have fallen is that hardly anyone wants to watch us - and to put it bluntly - that's Jim's fault.

Playing devil's advocate, if Tranmere and Shrewbury were interested in Jim, perhaps the reason he wants to stay at Morecambe is he knows he is a much safer position here than at any other club.

I hugely respect Jim and all the things he has done for this club, however I'm also very worried for the future of the club I love and support. Below are the attendance stats from the start of the season that Jim took control of the club. Everyone knows the position he inherited and the subsequent wage cuts, but then so did he and he took the job on anyway.

I seem to remember PMG saying that the club needed to hit 2,500 per game to break even. Unfortunately we've only managed to get above that number on less than 20% of the 122 home games in the last 6 seasons.

Season Average Attendance Pos in L2 Teams below us
    2011/12             2,141  22nd Accrington & Dagenham
    2012/13             1,954  22nd Accrington & Dagenham
    2013/14             1,936  22nd Accrington & Dagenham
    2014/15             1,998  23rd Accrington
    2015/16             1,572  24th None
    2016/17             2,180  22nd Accrington & Barnet
HOWAY THE SHRIMPS!!!!!

Back to yesterday and why did Mullin take the penalty.

Barkhuizen scored one on Tuesday so must have been confident.

Captain Murphy has a great penalty record with his previous clubs.

Or is there more cases of bullying being reported in these schools because they have become aware of it?
