This is a great idea, a bit of thinking outside the box is needed, what about a dormitory in the globe arena W&l suite, 2 dozen single beds, stored in a container, 4 fans to do the donkey work in return for free matchday tickets in hospitality, the players would definately feel at home!

Does anyone know if it is tomorrow's game where the players are staying in a local hotel to help to improve the home form?
I guess they will avoid the hotel where Exeter are staying!!

As long as there's complimentary bottled water in the rooms all will be fine !

Maybe as an alternative to staying over which is a good idea but could be costly, the club should think about hiring a luxury coach from the Merseyside area to bus the lads in on match days which would save them the stress of having to spend needless time behind a driving wheel with all the stress that that can bring.

A pick up point around Haydock for the Manchester lads would be ideal.

If they met at say 9.15 they would be at the ground by mid day it time to have a pre match meal together at The Globe and some time to relax before the usual pre match warm up.

Anything that would help our home form is worth considering....after all the vast majority of Premiership and Championship clubs get together on the morning of home games for a pre match meal and in some cases spend the Friday night in a local Hotel but would the cost be a factor in our case...

If my ageing memory serves me well I seem to recall that when the club went full time all those years ago that the team did meet up for a pre match meal in the morning when playing a Christie Park.

Don't know for sure, but sounds not. A year or two back when Jimbo mentioned the travel delays previously, he said a couple of players had actually been so late that they missed the start of the warm-up. Even if they'd been delayed by a couple of hours, if they'd been aiming to arrive before lunch, they'd have been here for the start of the warm up.

They have started to have an after match meal in the W&L, but with the recent run of home games the tables have been very sparce!
