Question for the long standing fans

In the early 80s we regularly finished near the bottom.
Now I know it's a different standard but did the fans (a few hundred) get behind the team and just accept that it is always gonna be a struggle?

Thing about those days Hodgy is there was no such thing as Internet forums and Facebook for people to voice their opinions on.

Most people went to the bar for a pint, had a whinge, then sloped off home and forgot about it.

In the 80's i think we had quite a regular turnaround of our management!

The cost is a hefty chunk out of an average persons income , football nowadays is very expensive ,so if its not much fun, why bother?

crowds will be back to 200 again soon the way things are going,club is slowly dying but nobody seems to be bothered.i know that there were a number of freebie tickets made available to local businesses for todays match.probably more freebies than paying fans!

Exactly. There was a sense of belonging and that we mattered, not as a crowd, but as individuals. We pretty much all knew each other and the players. Because of that, we were also meeting 'mates'. Christie Park was a 'home' and we were emotionally invested.

Unfortunately, for many reasons, The Globe hasn't ever felt like 'home'. Mistakes were made. And we've never managed a sustained period of 'quality' on the pitch. We need a good season rather than occasional moments of quality. Oddly, some of our best moments in our entire history have come at The Globe (beating Championship sides in the League Cup, narrowly beaten by Newcastle who brought their own ref, tonking Crawley 6-0 when they were top of League Two) but they don't 'feel good' in the same way as beating Bournemouth 5-0 when they were top of League Two at Christie Park.

We need to find a way of feeling a sense of belonging again.

Another issue yesterday was once again the disregard for fans who want a half time drink/bite to eat,yes come round the back of the stand and have your half time pie/beer in the rain!!!!Get some awnings sorted for gods sake,we had them at Christie park,get it sorted Mr Chairman.....Now we have plastic bottles ann glasses can we take these onto the terrace cos i for one wont be standing out in the rain again having a beer and by the numbers who partook of refreshment yesterday there wont be any need for a bar soon!!!!!!!!

Something we noted yesterday in block D was the amount of black mould on the seats. It's absolutely disgusting and desperately needs a clean. I'm going to e-mail the club about it when I fire up the PC tomorrow, but anyone else in the seats who saw this should do the same, please, so they are motivated to clean the things.
