Jennings, Massanka, Whitmore & Dunn can all go for me. Jennings has been poor, Massanka doesn't appear to be anything special and Dunn hasn't really had any impact other than the Rotherham game. Whitmore hasn't been too bad I don't think but I'd like to bring in another defender and as Edwards and Winnard are under contract he'll have to be sacrificed.
2 new full backs and a new centre back would be a priority, all with experience at League 2 level. It's a shame we couldn't have signed Kennedy who was on trial in pre season as he would have been perfect and exactly what we need.
If we could extend Stocktons loan until the end of the season and bring in another striker to provide competition then that would be great.
I'm willing to perservere with the midfield seeing as we should have Wildig & Kenyon back then but if there was room in the budget to bring in a creative, attacking midfielder then that would be ideal.
go on what is obvious? Not the S word???Christies Child wrote:Shrimpy wrote:What would everyone do in January?

Genuinely sorry to say this, but I think it's obvious what I would do.....
You can change the players BUT if they are directed to play a certain way (particularly in defence by not being tight on the opposition) then what is the point in bringing in new players...

Agreed, but not half as much as Kev - I don't think I've ever seen him tackle or steal the ball - too slow with his feet - he just runs back and then spreads himself out and stands there. Mc Gowan was also pretty poor on the other side, doing the same and not helped by Barky who just stood there marking no-one. Time and time again McGowan/Barky made it far too easy for the opposition to run in around them.
Sadly Jennings/Kev on one side and McGowan/Barky on the other was a recipe for disaster - 4 players who just didn't tackle and their marking was poor too.
Still can't believe that Jim got rid of Parrish, Beeley and Dugdale, but kept Edwards and Conlan, and then brought in players who look actually worse than Parrish and Beeley. If he didn't have a good replacement lined up, he should have kept Paz - at least he could play anywhere along the back.
