Had Enough after 25 years

Had Enough after 25 years

Postby John boy » Mon Oct 31, 2016 7:25 pm

After 25 years of supporting Morecambe I've finally had enough.
I never post on here but felt the need to have a final rant.

I like Jim Bentley as a person but he should resign. He must be the luckiest manager alive.
Why? basically the only reason is our home form.
We go to watch football for two reasons mainly. 1/ cos we love football and 2/ cos u want to be entertained. Forget about the league position for THREE years now we have not been getting entertained at home with lots of shocking displays. Its awful to watch and bordering on torcher. When you watched Jim Harveys teams you knew what you were getting good entertaining attacker football playing with quick wingers. This lot we have now well ive not a clue what the style of play is they don't have much of an idea and that is down to the manager. I know he hasn't had much money at his disposal but at least get the team organised and motivated. Most look like they can't be bothered and so does Bentley just slumped in his dugout.

I will come back when changes are made to the management and I don't think im on my own on this.
Time to shake things up now and get a new manager in so we can start rebuilding in January and maybe some fans will come back if they feel the club is making changes? If no changes are made then its only going to get worse.

Rant over!

Sadly I agree. I stopped getting my season ticket last season I did take in a couple of games but it's depressing to watch. I have escaped been twice this season but it's still the same.

Good riddance , you disloyal so called fans, the Stadium is cursed by JBC, even if we had Pogba playing for us it wouldn't do any good.

I ,unlike you, am not being negative or blaming the Management, this curse can be lifted by spiritual means, not by stabbing a Shrimps legend in his back, the ghost of JBC still hasn't forgotton the shabby treatment of Jim Harvey either!

The curse of JBC? Does that stand for Jim Bentley's Catchphrases?

Was JB Christie called Jim?

If so, it would appear that we have a problem with ''Jims'' and keep shitting on them.

I'm sure Joseph B Christie, given the fact that he has cursed the stadium, will have little sympathy for any manager at the globe, but will empathise with the Jims we have shown scant respect for, ''what a skanky bunch of tossers '', he's probably thinking!

The only thing that keeps me going is the meeting good friends. The football is awful and I'm sorry to say but it's Jimbo's fault

So John boy, would you come back if the team started winning, or godforbid getting promoted under the management of Jim Bentley.Fans of Exeter have 466 pages of trying to get rid of Tisdale, yet our fans compare our manager with him.Tisdale has a lot bigger squad and larger catchment area and yet we are still above Exeter. Before we moved to the new ground we were asked how we wanted the ground to be built and and what to be included, but all that was ignored and now we are reaping the benefit's or lack of,high prices and very tight budgets/advertising and and strained relationship with fans. Now with a new regime, who will be looking at all parts of the club and seeing what's needed can you not give Jim and the team till January to get things sorted and if they can't fair enough, but till then keep supporting our team.

Exactly my thoughts. Jim's performed miracles simply keeping us in the Football League with bugger-all cash. Let's give him a chance to show what he can do if/when some Qatari cash appears.

I would argue that being 50 or 60 miles from Manchester and Merseyside gives us a much better catchment area. Some of the Exeter players used to commute from London to play for them which is some trek !

I think the catchment area refers to fans and the revenue therefrom. Unfortunately people from Manchester and Liverpool aren't going to drive up to watch little old Morecambe when each city has two Premiership teams, and people from this area are often more prepared to travel the 50 or 60 miles to watch those teams than travel a short distance to Morecambe.

It's also why their youth setup can be so successful as they aren't competing with a whole host of much bigger clubs than themselves for players like we are.

I thought he was referring to catchment area for players.

With regard to fans I think we have a decent catchment area. Morecambe , Lancaster , Kendal , Carnforth , Galgate etc and we are the only proper football club for 30 miles.

A lot of people would come back if the team started winning or actually playing to a standard that was worth watching.

Some might call not turning up to watch this shower of piss every other week disloyal, but lots of the casual fans, the ones we need to turn up more often than not, simply have found better things to do with their time rather than spend £17 week after week to walk away bitterly dissapointed more often than not.

I'd a season ticket since the year Twiss signed up to the start of this season. Had enough after last season, went to a few matches at the start of this seasonand enjoyed it, we started to play crap again and I don't miss spending an hour and a half of my Saturday regretting turning up.

5 home wins in the league this calendar year. It's shit.

And we've still won as many matches as Leyton Orient and Newport combined.
