Coventry City (FAC) ...... predictions....

Coventry City (FAC) ...... predictions....

Postby Seasider9601 » Mon Oct 31, 2016 1:24 pm

Team from a higher division, traditionally we raise our game...

We're at home. On a Sunday. Which, in the past, has gone disastrously wrong also... Dagenham. Exeter.

So, a tough one to call. It's the FA Cup. We need progression to wipe away the disappointment of last season which still hurts.

1-1 draw ?? Yeah, I'll go for that.

Can we have a "when will Coventry score the first goal " prediction thread ? ;)

Or a "on what minute will Outsider fall asleep in" thread !!

Coventry City seem to have that effect on him ;)

I've tried to be positive this season and I'm way down the prediction league

Certainly don't feel any positive vibes for this one though we really need a good cup run.

0-2 :?

Wouldn't surprise me if we put in the performance of the season to date and win 2-1.

I've seen this a lot recently, "someone's going to get a hammering soon" type of posts. What have you seen to suggest that? If we were battering teams every week and unluckily losing out by the odd goal then I could understand it but we're second best in every game by some distance!

Mrs A & I were talking before Saturday's game about whether or not to go to this. I eventually said 'the new kitchen's arriving on Wednesday, we might as well spend the weekend putting it together'. So on that basis I won't be there, and after the match I decided we'd definitely made the right decision. They've got our season ticket money (for this season at least), but I'm not feeling inclined to spend on attending additional matches right now. As for a prediction, based on our inability to mark or tackle, and unwillingness to take a shot:

Morecambe 0 - 4 Coventry

Hope I'm wrong.

I'm exactly the same. I'm a season ticket holder and will be there for all the league fixtures but I'm not shelling out further money for any cup ties with the level of performance as it is at the moment.

Funny isn't it? Not that long ago, an FA Cup game, at home to Coventry would have been MASSIVE for us! The whole town would have been excited and it would have been a sell out at the home end. When we played Cambridge in the cup, there were people at the game who probably didn't watch another Morecambe match until Wembley.

Now, it's nothing special and doesn't raise the excitement level at all.

My heart wants to say a win, cup upset and a bit of a run to get the feel good factor back.
My heart says that after the dismal displays at home, the players really owe us one.
My heart feels like I'd be delighted with a draw.

My head keeps telling my heart to stop being so stupid!
My head keeps reminding me of the last FA Cup game.

0-2    out with a whimper

I have a feeling that we will win this he says while waiting for the men in white coats to arrive

Just consider the recent Stoke City game. The team Stoke put out with 4 experienced first teamers in it was head and shoulders better than any of the teams that have beaten us here in the League. Charlie Adam that night was every bit a Premier League player giving it his all , certainly taking several of our players out ! We relaxed , went out and played proper football and we were 3-0 up at half time.

I think the team will relax with it being another cup match and beat Coventry 3-1.

I'm thinking a 2-2 draw

Mrs Sak thinks we'll lose 2-3.

Was thinking 1-1 but then I realized we always concede more than 1 goal so will go for 2-2 draw which will feel like a win :!:

The medium relayed a message to me that we would lose 3-1, I may have a flutter.

to be fair we normally play better football against better sides .

I expect a better football, but with people walking away saying unlucky.

think we'll narrowly get beat 1-2.
