They are human but professionals.

If you get shit food at a restaurant, you will voice your complaint.

They get paid far more than most of us to have a bit more thick skin.

I agree, there are times when he frustrates me too. However, while you say "laying him blameless because of x,y and z is absurd", I would suggest that laying all the blame on his, as many do, despite x,y and z is equally absurd.

So how did that work out then?

They are professionals, but many of them quite young. I'm not young, and it still dents my confidence when someone challenges my professionalism. As for getting paid far more than us, maybe so, but if they're extremely lucky they've got a 20 year career, so there is a reason for it. I've been working for 30 years, and with changes in the pension age I'll be working for 20 more. Yes, they should all be able to get some sort of job when they finish, but how many transferrable skills do they have or will they end up on minimum wage?

Criticism is allowed, and obviously if the food is not good, you don't go back week after week moaning about it, you just go somewhere else. But this is football, not food, although the PNE or the DOlly Blues are always about. :D
However, it can become self defeating if you are told week after week that you are shit, because the human psyche is fragile, some players may well freeze and not perform like they do when the pressure isn't on, i.e. Away from home.
So by poor performances comes the criticism, which leads to more poor performances and more criticism and the spiral begins.

Perhaps a more positive, less condemning atmosphere could help certain players actually arrest their slide?? Who knows.

but what pressure playing at home?

I think the players get an easy ride... Morecambe fans are mild mannerd compared to most, rarely do the players get booed, and if they do its off a very very small minority, who get stick for doing so, the players will hardly hear boos or criticism .

don't think that's a valid excuse to why we get better results away from home.

A friend of mine is a neighbour of Eileen Drewery, for a nominal fee of just 2 grand she will come to Morecambe, contact JB Christie, and attempt to broker a settlement ,allowing the great man to pass through the 7th plane, rest in peace, and release the Globe pitch from his 99 year curse, as attendances stand at the moment that's a paltry £1.68 per supporter, I think it could be a good investment.

First time i've heard any serious booing was last week when Exeter scored their second! After that there were a lot of rumblings from the crowd, but by the end it seemed everyone accepted our fate and just went home! Can't see the point of getting rid of Ken at all, that woud be like booting the monkey off because you don't like the organgrinder's choice of tune

Spot on, Jim and the players don't know how lucky they are, the level of abuse is very little compared to what they would receive at just about any other club especially with the type of performances we have witnessed.

Even at Three nil down people were still singing and getting behind the team so that shouldn't be used as a excuse.

Nobody has used it as an excuse!!

If we fell into dickies meadow financially , and the club went bust, is the globe protected by a covenant?

or could the land be sold off, to, say for an example....affordable housing builders?

George I wasn't saying it was any sort of excuse, just putting forward an idea.
There are quite a few in the seats who are very verbal and aggressive immediately one pass goes astray, but that's not an excuse, I agree.
10,000 people slagging ooff become a mass, ten people in our place if I can hear it so can the others and the Players.

Perhaps putting some swings in now would be a good idea, centre circle and open the box could be unmissable half time entertainment. :D
