FCoM Statement

FCoM Statement

Postby Shrimps Trust » Sat Nov 05, 2016 12:48 pm

As the official Fans Club for Morecambe FC we share all fans concerns.

First and formost we urge all fans to support the team and staff during this unstable period. Starting tomorrow in the FA Cup match Vs Coventry.

Following the match Fans Club representatives will be available to discuss and collate concerns and questions to be put to the club.

The Fan's Club will continue to work in the best interests of all fans and remain independent from Morecambe FC.

We share the hope that clarification from the board will take place ASAP.

Until we have the facts we would suggest caution on speculation.

The Vice chairman is it Mike Hinchcliffe?

I couldn't name any of the directors nowadays, is Rod still on the board?

While a statement from FCOM is welcome and agree with the sentiments about backing the team and the players, I really can't understand how a wait and see approach will help.

In the best case scenario, we'll get some form of loan that will keep us trading for a while. However, it is going to happen again. Easy for me to say but we need a Supporters Trust, such as those at AFC Wimbledon, Exeter etc. This isn't going to end happily and there needs to be a group willing to pick up the pieces or at least provide backing for those we can get behind.

Totally agree Michael and have thought for some time that a Supporters Trust is the way forward for us and other clubs facing a similar fate in the months / years to come.

Not sure who could afford to get involved but there surely fans out there who have the skills and motivation to get something organised even though they may be short of a bob or two.
