It's interesting that since the announcement of Diego and Co that PMcG hasn't been seen at the club and that the clubs General Manager and Director is still on gardening leave.

But Company Law still over-rides such arrangements. A Board Chairman may have a casting vote, but all major decisions still need Board approval, by a majority of the board. All the directors should be fully involved in the company's operations and can't hide behind a "not my department" argument if things go wrong.

"You are also expected to keep yourself informed about what is going on in your company, whether or not it is in an area that is your primary responsibility. It is therefore very dangerous for directors to turn a blind eye to, or fail to pay attention to, anything going on in their company - particularly in relation to the company's financial situation. Directors can be held jointly and severally liable if they act in breach of their responsibilities."

I would hope the players, given their above average salaries and short careers, that they live a modest lifestyle and therefore have savings. Most I would imagine don't have mortgages as footballers can move all round the country, but they still needed to pay their rent and bills on Nov 1st!

I'd be very surprised if players at our level are paid anywhere near what you think.... most will have mortgages to pay etc

I would imagine they are paid more than £500 a week gross, which is the average for the country.

Thinking about the money, Carlisle fans alone must of paid us £40-50k in tickets and food. Where did this go?

If the transaction between PMG and Diego had NOT gone through would MD still be doing more gardening than Monty Don given his relationship with PMG :?: :?:

If would imagine they are paid more than that too.... however unless they are on a LOT more they will still have mortgages to pay etc. They won't earn anywhere enough to have a house paid off in full

I was not there but from what I was told the food was ok. At events like that ( It wasn't black tie) Stew/Hotpot is the usual fare.
