It is very difficult to maintain and run a football club at any level (except for the huge clubs at the top of the Premier League), and of course for Morecambe it is no different, given attendances generally are between 1000-1500 > with this income it is difficult for the club to break even.
I am not saying it is an impossible job, we are one of the smallest clubs in the league in terms of fanbase, similar to Accrington, Stevenage, Crawley, Barnet. But it is possible to survive, the club has managed to do so for 10 years now - an incredible achievement.
There are clubs far bigger than ourselves have fallen through the trapdoor and struggled to come back, Stockport County being a prime example.
If the club can find a way of improving home form (and thus gates), shrewd transfer policy promoting youth, free tansfers and loan players, good management on and off the pitch, and of course a git of luck, the club should be able to continue its position in the FL.
