Sh*t ref - end of.

Also noticed their player didn't have to leave the pitch after receiving treatment, does he not need to if it's deemed there wasn't a foul?

On another occasion one of their players left the pitch after receiving treatment only for the ref to wave him back on before the ball was back in play.

Chap I was sat next to mentioned something about it being a new rule this season where they don't have to go off the field of play.

Only in certain circumstances. Apparently.

Why they can't just leave the rules alone mystifies me.

Yes, indeed it was a cracking game, very entertaining, and lots of happy people in the stands. Will do wonders for moral, on and off the pitch. The lads showed what they're made of and hopefully will have a more positive frame of mind for the next few home games (hopefully the fans will too!).

After recent performances that was a big improvement. Disappointed not to win, but at least we are in the hat for R2.

A much improved performance. Barky was electric in the first half and his wing play for the chance Wildig had cleared off the line was Thommo-esque! We could have scored more than one but so could they and that made for an exciting game. Still a bit dubious about Murphy but hopefully more game time will see him improve. When Diego remembers where he put all the money, I hope he gives some to Tranmere and signs Cole up on a permanent deal.

Better without kev. Love the bloke but he's best off the bench for last 10-15 minute's now. Wildig helped the flow from front to back. Murphy needs to up his game or I'd have Flemming back in. Great effort today and deserved to win even if they did better second half.

Agree about Kev, Wildig and Moly did well at moving it quickly which Kev tends not to do.
And agree about Murphy, not looked the player yet, but after two career threatening injuries he deserves the chance to prove himself all over again. He's still only got half a dozen games in and it will take longer I feel.
Great game today, fair play to Coventry for playing their part.

Thought Stockton had a great game holding the ball up well and winning most headers including the one that led to our goal. Important we sign him if there isn't a cashflow problem!!!

"The chance to prove himself all over"? What's that mean? Actually, don't tell me, I'm not sure I want to know!

The team had a better balance about it yesterday. The first half we actually played like a home team and dominated it with Coventry unable to get out of their own half in a meaningful way. We created 4 or 5 really good chances and but for the woodwork and some poor finishing we would have been out of sight by the break.
After the break Coventry came strongly and it was against the run of play that we scored a well worked set piece goal. Wildig who made a great difference tired unsurprisingly and Coventry went for a late winner although the game ended with the mighty Shrimps forcing corner after corner but couldn't find the net for a late winner.
All in all it was a great match for the World TV audience and I left feeling happier than I have for quite a while.
Please Jim keep this team intact and use Kevin as an impact sub.

Good to see Jim up on his feet too :D

The whole demeanour (sp?!) around the team yesterday was so much better than the Exeter game.

Loved every minute of yesterdays game.

Roll on Wednesday !!!

A very much improved and welcome home performance but a draw for me was the correct result.

But it could have been so different if Tom had taken his late chance with that header.

However I felt that Jim changed his first half tactics at half time by asking Tom to play deeper than he had in the first 45 which allowed his marker(s) to play a more advanced role.

It was also noticeable to both myself and the guy next to me how much room their right winger had with Jennings not marking tight. This is something that has been a failing in our game plan for an increasing number of games and begs the question if it is part of the managements game plan.

Also once again the opposition scored from a shot that Baz in seasons past would have saved.

But overall a vast improvement on home games of late and with our excellent away from this tie is still all to play for.

MoM for me was once again Rose....and as others have commented how much better the lads played collectively without Kevin.

Our MOM was Whitmore, superb all game, calm, assured and good distribution.

Showed alongside Winnard that they are our best centre back partnership for me. Non of the aimless long field, over hit punts that we've come to expect from Edwards who although excellent at defending his distribution is woeful.

My expectations were low going into yesterdays game so I have to be happy with a draw.

We showed that we can play well although I still maintain that we looked better because we were playing opposition who didn't look to park the bus and left loads of space at the back.

Barky was great in the first half but let's face it, he wouldn't have found the space that he did to run at defenders had we been playing a team with a deep line.

I thought Winnard and Whitmore played well (albeit quite a bit of side to side passing) and they definitely must start together in the next league game.

Much better performance and had we taken our chances would have gone through. Nice to come away from the Globe not having watched a defeat!

As I understood it, they didn't need to go off after treatment if the foul led to a yellow or red card. But that doesn't explain the decisions on Saturday. Perhaps it has changed again?

Why would he do that when hed been our best attacker in the first half, you think he's thick? They doubled up on that side to force him back. Then after they made a sub late on he got more space again.
