He's been sold today with immediate effect so no more TB. The money is paid today so the staff should now be paid but what happens next if the club had to resort to this to get money

He can't play for anyone else until January when the "window" opens.

sorry to see him go, but it's not like Jim always played him in his best position anyway.

be nice to use the said money to get Stockton on a permanent basis.

I don't think that's why we have sold him the money is going to pay the staff.
So what will we do next month sell another player?

I'm serious worried obviously the wages wasn't a glitch if we have had to sell a player, is Diego not willing/can't cover our losses?

Cashflow will only get worse in Jan/Feb when games starting postponed etc look at the past couple of seasons was it last season we didn't have a home game for 6 weeks or something daft.

Maybe they knew he wasn't going to sign another contract and decided a fee now would be more than compensation would be in the Summer.

Which of our other players would bring in some cash?

I suppose we could always give a few away to get them off the wage bill :x Get yourself fit Jim!

maybe Edwards next is our most valuable asset ?

I know we joke about our defence, but he's not a bad footballing centre half, some coache's might feel he can be coached, and made into a better player with better players around him.

If true then this is very worrying. Selling our best player for peanuts to pay a month's wages. What on earth is going on?

Toms left the club today and the reason being is the wages issue. Preston have agreed to pay his wages until January which means he's no longer available to play for us or them untill January 1st. The scary thing now is that if the players aren't paid by the end of the week, there all aloud to leave for nothing and find a new club !

We're not in great form at the minute but clubs would take plenty of our players on a free as it's a young side with quite abit of potential and experience !

If true, not really the solution that was implied by the chairman's statement at the weekend.

If its true then so much for PMG only selling the club to someone who can take us to the next level, it would appear that the next level is downwards.

At the time Diego's takeover was announced, I was surprised and perplexed to see a twitter post 23/9.

https://twitter.com/marlin_uk

It was from what looks like a very small business finance brokerage (offering asset finance, loans etc) called marlin commercial with the comment "Proud to announce the Morecambe FC takeover has been completed by our client Mr Diego Lemos, Paul acting as lead advisory."

I thought it strange because why would someone, allegedly with money/backers, etc., be using some barely known small firm from Middlesborough to be "lead advisory"? I'd have thought he'd be using a larger specialist firm of solicitors and accountants to advise him and that he would have the finance lined up without need of asset finance and loans.

The whole thing just seems wrong on so many levels. It made me think that they were going to re-finance all the club's assets (equipment, property etc) to raise finance rather than actually put money in. If that's the plan, you have to wonder why PMG and the Board didn't think of doing that.

On the PNE forum a lad reckons we want 200k but they have offered 175k
can't see it being that much unless other teams want him.

Downwards? It could be down and out. If this is the way to pay wages then it won't be long before we won't have a team to be paid anything so we'll have nothing to support.

There must be more to it than this. Why would anyone buy a club in order to do this? There are answers and I don't like any that I can think of.

And why didn't PMG and the board do it themselves and not bother selling it?

But wasn't Duffy over 24yrs of age, so he would have gone for free? Due to his age, Tom couldn't leave for free, but with other clubs interested in him, someone else may have come in with a better deal, so PNE may have paid a decent amount just to secure him.

I think we can be fairly sure that Peter Ridsdale has had a hand brokering this deal.
