The club/Directors need to sort themselves out because they are as water tight as the Titanic. I got tipped off about all this yesterday and I am just a Joe Bloggs punter. This is all being leaked by someone and making us look even more tin pot than we already are!

Why are you so jokey about this?! I'm getting extremely concerned... :? :(

We can only but hope something has gone wrong but why would a multi million businessman need to sell our best player? Couldn't he just delve into his bank account and hand over the money? He's experienced, he surely knows how to hand over wages?

I really hope this is just a blip though.

This is not life and death, it's 22 blokes chasing a bag of wind around on a saturday, Barky would have been going at the end of the season anyway, I hope the new owners turn out to be ok, but if they aren't ,theres nothing any of us can do about it and worrying about things you can't control is a waste of time.

I think Gordon Taylor knew this deal was developing when he referred to us selling a player last week. Suspect the fee will pay the wages owed to the players and pay the loan to the PFA. Worrying times for the future, would love to hear Peter McGuigan's take on what is happening!

I doubt if Peter has any more involvement in our great club despite his wish to still have a role to play. I can't believe that he's simply walked away from the club that he's developed and devoted a he'll of a lot of time and energy as well as the millions he has self funded..

If he's gone then he deserves some recognition.

I'd be disgusted if he's gone on the insistence of the new owners but at the moment nothing would surprise me in view of recent developments.

Yet another comment that I believe will come back and bite you on the arse Neil.

Ever considered that the new owners may have discovered a different sort of club than they thought they'd bought? Ever wondered why PMG's right hand man is no longer there?

If all of this is true I feel sorry for Jim who found a diamond and had it sold from under his feet.
He won't be thanked either.........and I very much doubt it was his idea.

The fact someone has come in for Tom is not surprising, and us selling him given his contract is up at the end of the season is equally not surprising.

However, it does provide the most evidence so far on the takeover to indicate that there is no pot of gold that many on here were hoping for.

I have been thinking about this for sometime now even during the days when we were looking for an owner.

Could it be one or two directors aren't happy with the way things are going so are leaking things.

Regarding Posh's comment on has the new owner found a different club to what he was expecting, it might also explain why a few interested parties might have walked away after further inspection.

I know theclub we did some tidying up of the accounts but what I never understood was surely when potential owners do their checks they would be able to see this "tidying up" and still see that we were running at a loss every year. People on here were able to find it with a bit of googling so you would think a potential owner would see it.

I feel sorry for Jim in general. He will be gutted that are home form is so bad but he's had a chairman whose lost interest and looked to offload the club, is doing his job scrapping around for players, keeping them in midtable and on the verge of playoffs, all this uncertainty going on for months and still gets slated.

Some folk at our end now also saying he's signed for us.

There were rumours that we wanted him in the summer and I suppose your financial situation has enabled us to pounce and finally get him in.

What's this lad like as a player? Is he good enough for the Championship? Does he play up top or wide?

Cheers and I hope your club's problems are resolved soon.

Ideal for counter attacking football. He's quick and his finishing is reasonable. Predominantly played on the wing for us but has also been used as a right back. I believe he would be better played as a striker. On his day he is a match winner however he is inconsistent and and at times looks disinterested.

Welcome to our forum northender.

Ex Blackpool player in North End colours, how will that go down ?

I know a few players who have played for both previously, Tony Ellis, Gary Parkinson etc.

He won't get straight into the starting XI - good as an impact sub perhaps?

He's supposedly a life-long Blackpool fan as well lol.

Personally I couldn't care less. These players are professionals doing their job, I doesn't matter who you support.

Joe Garner was a life-long PNE fan. Did tremendously at his level in L1 but being a fan didn't suddenly magic lots of goals out of him in the Championship.

No disrespect but Morecambe in L2 to PNE in the Championship is a big leap and a great career move for the lad so I doubt he cares he's playing for Blackpool's rivals either really.

From the Taylor interview, reading between the lines (i.e., might be completely wrong) the League have had to give permission to allow the sale to go ahead outside of the transfer window. Tom is [probably] a PNE employee now, so unable to play for us. But unable to play for PNE until January. Hopefully, if my guesswork is correct, the League will have given permission only on the basis that the staff & player wages get paid out of the transfer fee.

But that might all be bollocks.

My office is just half a mile from Deepdale.

Was in two minds at lunch time today about whether or not to go to the Main Reception desk at PNE and ask if I could see Mr Barkhuizen and see what reception it generated.
