I was 15 at the time and one of the sports teachers at Morecambe High, Mr Gibson (Gibby) drove about a dozen or so of us down there overnight in the school minibus, arriving at Wembley at 6 in the morning. My first visit and it looked awesome. Off into London City Centre after that for a look around and back to Wembley for the game and a fine win for the under dogs against the Southern League Champions Dartford. ( No Conference in those days just Southern and Northern Premier League ). Got home about midnight having been awake for 40 hours. Never since have I been as tired and happy at the same time!
Any other old buggers on here remember the day?

Me and my mate went down on the train and i remember the tube ride back to Euston. We were the only Morecambe fans on it surrounded by Dartford fans singing 'knees up mother brown'. Needless to say i had my scarf stuffed down the front of my jacket out of sight
