The club haven't wished him it so it would be sad if we didn't after some great performances he put in for us during his time here. Big loss for us but hope he goes on an fulfills his potential!

Taken one for the team, but if it helps us survive, so be it. Thanks Tom and good luck.

Did the fee for Tom pay tonight's wage bill or did it come from somewhere else?

Website says contract cancelled by mutual consent?

Tom was at the game tonight watching his now former teammates. Good luck Barky, top man!

As contract cancelled no 'fee' as such, but will get money when he moves elsewhere.

On a serious note though, any one know why we cancelled his contract ? Seems odd.

I would imagine that if tom is out of contract it means another club can sign him and he can play for them now rather than have to wait until january

Yes all the Best to Tom, a pleasure to watch, will be sorely missed I'm sure , but here's hoping his career development continues to flourish in his new surroundings, and he provides a great return for his new employers ( exception if they play us)

It surely means the club have ensured they get compensation when he signs for someone else as he's under 24.

Good luck Tom. A Morecambe career cut short, but thanks for your efforts.

Preston will pay toms wages untill January and including last months also. So not a great deal of compensation when you weight it up. Absolute bargain from prestons side !

Surely there is some kind of fee involved...despite wages being paid. :?: :?: :?:

If the fee was 3 months wages then whoever sanctioned this deal needs their head looking at... :o :o :o

Tom is worth at least £200,000 especially when another League 2 full back from a southern club is reported to have been verbally sold for in excess of £250,000.

PNE took him before other clubs came in with bids.

I think you are stringing us along there.

There is no way we would have let one of our best players leave to save 3 months of his salary. If it was say £2,000 per week we would be talking £25,000 ish

We will get a reasonable fee because of his age, decided between the clubs, or a tribunal, It has apparently been agreed.

One of my PNE twitterers reckons PNE will sign him on January 1st and then loan him out for the rest of the season.
Maybe that will be to us :?: :?:

This isn't a normal situation we're we are entitled to a fee. The whole reason tom has left is due to not getting paid situation. If a club hasn't paid a player for 40 days or more there free to speak to other clubs and this is what's happened with tom. There will be no tribunal and the agreement is they'll pay toms salary from now untill he's available on January 1st then he'll sign a contract with Preston !

We can talk about Tom being worth £200k etc etc but given our non existent negotiating position and the fact that he's out of contract, I'd snap PNE's hands off for £40k compensation.

If his contract is now cancelled, he is a free agent so he can sign for Preston today as there is no transfer involved

Your at it again KS  ...making assumptions that have very little to substantiate the theme of your post.

Maybe if you would tell us just where or from whom you get such info from then your posts would have some credibility.

I suspect that you have a problem with the club that goes back a few years and you now see an opportunity to get your own back.
