It's people like Downesey saying they've had enough worries me....

We have deep rooted problems here - which of course, all of us that remain knew anyway. :(

Oh yeah.
Southend were head & shoulders above us that day and we were beaten by a better side.

Quiz question then... Have we won an FA Cup match since Jim became manager?

I think Downsey has only said what a lot of us are thinking , even the more hardened fans amongst us must be feeling the pain by now :(

Forget the budget
Forget the lack of experience
This is the f**king FA cup and we should of been right at the races but for the 3 rd year in a row we go down with no fight what's so ever.
How can a Jim Bentley side not get up for the FA cup? He played against Chester/ Hull/Ipswich/Swindon/Brentford.
He knows what's it's about
Ken Mckenna played at Everton for Telford.
He knows what it's about.
F**king joke

Moral must be at the forefront in the players minds with the wages issue!

Bentley's six seasons in the FA Cup as manager:

2016/2017 1st Round replay Coventry City 2-1 Morecambe

2015/2016 1st Round replay Morecambe 2-4 Dag. & Red

2014/2015 1st Round Dover Ath. 1 - 0 Morecambe

2013/2014 1st Round Morecambe 0 - 3 Southend Utd

2012/2013 2nd Round Coventry City 2 - 1 Morecambe

2011/2012 1st Round Morecambe 1 - 2 Sheff. Wed

His one and only win came four years and two days ago at Spotland when we won a first round replay against Rochdale. How depressing. :x

They got paid before capitulating against Dagenham last season, so what was the explanation then? Can't professionals get themselves motivated by the thought of possibly playing at Old Trafford or Goodison or Anfield in a couple of months time?

I don't think the pay issue should come in to it once they are on the pitch. Professional pride and a love of the game should be the starting point. Otherwise, we may as well go back to the Crapaldi days.

Am I the only one that feels a bit of sympathy for Diego and his gang? All the recent events have been on the cards for ages. Crowds dwindling, utter shite performances on the pitch and the Board bumbling from one farce to another. Diego has bought the club but all is not as he was lead to believe. I am sure we have all heard the rumours about the previous regime and it looks like Diego has had his pants pulled down and is left to carry the can!

The players didn't get paid but neither did the staff. Did they stop pulling the pints or serving the food? It can not be used as a smoke screen for a lack of effort or fight! The players are not good enough, i can accept that but they have no fight in them at all. Something has to change and it has to change sharpish!

Just got back.

Started well by exploiting space in wide areas and deservedly took the lead. Then it all went wrong. First goal conceded came from our corner but to be be fair it was a fantastic counter attacking goal. Shocking defending for their second, two of our defenders failed to either tackle or crowd out their striker who scored past a sluggish Roche. We never looked like getting back in to the match. It didn't feel like we were the underdogs in a cup tie trying to cause an upset. We lacked intensity and passion. Kev was well off the pace, I'm not sure why Jim kept him on past 30 mins never mind the full 90. An incredibly disappointing performance in our most important match of the season.

Decent turnout of 126 away fans.

First twenty minutes or so was good but after that it was downhill all the way and the second half was a non event, there was no fight or passion we just went out with a wimper, are the players actually told not to tackle, just back of and let them pass the ball about until they can get a shot in. We need to improve and quickly.

Thought we played well first half tonight, much better than Saturday at Wycombe. We were the better side until they broke from our corner and levelled the tie. It was a good finish from a quick break, but a bit naive from us.... you could see it coming a mile away; somebody should've taken a yellow so we could get back and regroup. Prior to that we looked the most likely to getting the games next goal.

Second half was a non-event from us. The substitutions were baffling.... why bring Murphy on as your last change? We ran out of steam and allowed Coventry to pass it around us at will. Not sure why Barry is taking much blame for the second.... terrible communication between Winnard and Edwards... ball played between them and both didn't react, gifting a free shot on goal that ended up in the bottom corner.

Thought Molly looked good first half, probably our best player... nobody played well second half.
Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys!

I am yet to understand our team.
Go at it for 20 minutes, maybe score a goal.
If we do, invite pressure on till they score 2.

If we don't score early then we keep it at 0.0 till 40 mins or maybe half time.

Come out second half and often concede early, have a bit of a flurry then go to sh!t.

When 2 goals behind we start to play again, at which point we might get one back or if not concede another on the break.

So predictable it's unreal
