Although you’re partially right Morecambe plays a crucial part to the community with the schemes the club run....As you know recently the Football in community has made it into the top 3 and may take the top award. Morecambe FC should be recognised by the local people and the council...This is what I intend on using with the council....I do believe we can work with all relevant parties top come to some sort of agreement.


Keep a look out in the visitor for more details.

Hi all,

On Saturday i hope to see everyone at the game cheering on the lads against Aldershot. Before the game kicks off we will be outside the gates taking you signatures so make sure you sign your name will only take 1 minute of your time.....I have also managed to con my nethews into handing flyers out so please keep hold of these and pass them onto your friends. It contains a brief outline of what we are doing there and also has the Facebook link on there.

Just a thought, although this sounds like a great idea, from the councils point of view the Football club is just like any other business in the area and I can't see them paying for what is basically advertising of a business on the side of a bus.

I don't mean to be negative but knowing this council they will have to justify why a local business should get free advertising like this over any other business in the area.

I'm totally behind the idea but I think the club will end up being the ones with the bill.

Because people in their thousands don't travel at once to other businesses?

21st November
Just a quick update we had a meeting with Geraldine Smith (MP) who really liked the idea of Morecambe FC having a bus travelling around the town and will help the best she can.

Geraldine is in process of arranging a meeting between us and the council to discuss further, we are hopeful that they will sponsor the bus. Also Geraldine is going to speak with the power station about possible sponsorship.
