I'd say that we all must support the efforts to set up the supporters trust. From what I've read, the club has to engage with such a trust, so hopefully that will create a better exchange of information and enable better working together. Ultimately, though, we need something in place that is ready to step in and take over the club if it comes to the worst case scenario, i.e. if the club goes into liquidation/receivership, we need to be ready to take over the land lease, or at least to be able to take action to protect the site if there was ever a proposal to change the usage to sell for housing etc. Basically, we need something in place where the club's owners/board can be challenged.

Over the last 6/8 years, "ordinary" supporters have been sidelined and ignored. The Board have become remote. We need to address that immediately to stop things getting worse. But, the past is the past, PMG and other management were allowed to wreck the club without challenge because there was no "supporter voice". It's taken several years of sleep walking into the current situation.

It's too late to change the results for this season - we, as supporters, can't change things that will change whether we get relegated or not, but we can change the longer term future to help ensure that there remains a club and a stadium in Morecambe.

What a load of bollocks....

So a guy who pumps millions of his own money does it on purpose to wreck his club....

He'd be the first to admit that he's got it wrong sometimes but your belief that he has wrecked the club is simply WRONG.... :(

This constant theme about the miss spent millions is so far from the truth. Remember the banking crisis.... :?:

The money from CP was intended to earn interest but due to the crisis it earned SFA... had it earned interest then the stadium would have been as originally planned.

Why do some people always want to revert to the same old same old about the move from CP is beyond me....

To redress the problems at CP and to develop a new stand for commercial revenue would have cost millions. Who would have paid for that... PMcG of course.

There is some nonsense written on here, but CC tops the lot with this crap about interest rates leading to the overspend on the stadium. You have to be very simple to believe that sort of rubbish.

The base rate has been at 0.5% or lower since March 2009. We only announced the plan to sell to Sainsbury's in January of that year. Even if by some miracle the club got 2% a year on whatever they got for the ground, your not talking much in the scheme of things after considering the fact there is zero chance Sainsbury's would have paid the entire amount up front AND the fact we would have been spending it as fast as it was coming in on the new ground.

The overspend was due to the cost of steel rocketing around the time of the crash iirc.

Exactly, the interest rate excuse never stood up to any scrutiny - whether interest rates are half a percent or 2 percent, the short time the money was in the bank would have meant irrelevant and insignificant amounts of interest anyway. The real problem was that all the money was spent - the promised plan was that some of it would have been saved long term, hence why interest rates would have mattered, but it's all irrelevant because it was all spent virtually as soon as it arrived - it was never in the bank long enough to earn any material interest whatever the rate may have been.

Steel prices plummeted at the time the stadium was built.

Steel prices peaked to around the same level in 2008 and 2011. 2009 and 2010 were lower. So it may or may not have had a big impact. In fact prices were actually low when the stadium was actually being built. So it's anyone's guess whether it had an impact or not.

It's my belief which is just as valid as your belief that he hasn't!

My point is re all those millions that the club got from selling CP. It "could" have given the club a golden future, but my belief is that a lot of that has been spent/wasted on unnecessary items.

He wouldn't have needed to pour millions into the club if the move and the subsequent years had been properly managed.

You are free to believe otherwise.

It was always documented and preached during the build up to the move that it would "see us financially secure".

I can't help but think we should have developed the Car Wash side as was the original plan.

And I'm not the only one to think that.

yes, basically finished building the rest of the ground off properly instead of the last minute plans of the 3rd tier in the PMG stand.

How would a roof on the North Terrace have made Morecambe FC into a thriving business? :?

I'd have rather they hadn't built anything there and moved the North Stand with a proper bar built behind.

JB Christie was never a postman, as for PMG, we no longer have to listen to his shite excuses like, ''we never expected westgate to flood in winter'', or ''we expected a televised cup run every year'', or his fancy promises of rock festivals ,chinese investment from non existent shanghai clubs blah blah blah, yak yak, The spirit of JB will not rest until we all accept he was wronged, and put it right

Blackburn Rovers are able to stage an Elton John gig at Ewood next June.

At a ground in a residential area, surrounded by rows and rows of terraced houses.

Yet we, couldn't stage anything....

It wasn't going to be just "a roof" though was it.

It was going to be a new seated stand with hospitality, office space etc etc

Well the knives are really out for PMcG.....

It's interesting that at AGMs since The Globe was built that few if any shareholders have actually stood up and accused the powers that be of failing in their duty to act in the best interests of the club that we ALL support with regards to the monies from the sale of CP.

Could it be that the Board and Shareholders actually had the 'true' facts about the money from CP rather than the 'supposed' facts expressed by some on here. Maybe some would like to explain where they get their info from about money being spent as soon as it came in... :?: :?: :?:

I would rather have left the Bay Radio stand as an open terrace like Accrington and used the money that it cost to put a roof on it to provide a better home end. It's only open for about 5 or 6 league games and the odd cup game.
