Barky would have gone at the end of the season anyway and then we would have received development compensation which would have been much less than the PNE "Compensation".

I overheard a conversation at the Luton game about Barky. I don't know how true it is, as it's only hearsay, but allegedly he knew Preston were interested, and when he didn't get paid, effectively made it clear he wanted out, and who can blame him? As has been said above therefore, if this is right, then he was going anyway, and doing the deal we did allowed us to get money in quickly, when it was sorely needed.

Good luck to Tom B. at North End but he didn't look a championship player to me. The step up two leagues is enormous and often pace alone is not enough. Time will tell whether he's a good buy or not.

Tom has pace, you cannot coach that, he was also a pretty decent finisher, the rest he can be coached to improve on, so not a bad starting skills set for me. The rest is down to him.
I heard that PNE were set to move in January, so in essence he has gone six weeks early and the money has dug us out of the hole we were in.
However he cannot sign and play until Jan, so PNE have in essence done us a massive favour.

His contract was terminated so he is a free agent, and free agents can sign out of the window, so I can't understand why he can't play for Preston now.

Just hope that the staff get their pay cheques on time. Otherwise the club will be in deep trouble.

Doesn't stop there being more holes in future, of course, but let's hope not!

As I understand it, any player who becomes a Free Agent after the transfer window has closed, can only sign for another club when the window re-opens, hence January!! Hope that helps.

Correct.

Radio Lancashire just reported that the wages have been paid on time this month so maybe more good news on the way ;) ;)

Finally something possitive :D , and on Radio Lancs too they only seem to thrive on MFC bad news

....and conveniently forget to mention that Accy players have faced the same late payment of wages on numerous times. So our ex Stanley contingent will be well aware of what its like. Problem is of course that Radio Lancashire have a strong Accy fan on its payroll namely Dan Jewel.....who will only report good news and of late sounds to have taken great delight in our problems ;)

My opinion.....but one thing he /they never mention when discussing our payment issue is that Stanley have been through this scenario twice to my knowledge.

If you read the Lancs Sport posts on Twitter yesterday, you will see they want to be involved with the club and commentate and give us positive air time, but they can't get communication from the club and no contract or something.

I've heard them mention on air previously about "the usual lack of information coming out of The Globe Arena".
