They seek him here.....

They seek him here.....

Postby fulwoodshrimp » Wed Dec 07, 2016 11:36 am

I continue to be puzzled about what is happening at our club. We seem to be leaderless with Diego, apparently, continuing to be out of the country. This raises many questions including : Who is making the day to day decisions during Diego's absence? Will the players continue to be paid when the Tom. B. money has been spent(it must be close to that point!) Why would you spend money buying a club only to maintain silence and appear to do little? Will the squad be strengthened in the January window? Has the previous owner been paid for his shares? Many questions but no answers. Is that good for morale? All credit to the management and players for rising above all this nonsense.

All we can do is do what we can. The trust paperwork is in and the committee and filling it sharpish. Barring someone flying to Qatar to find him or PMG turning up to tell us what's going on you can't really do anything else other than prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

As this is the last official announcement, this is what I am "clinging" to:

"I want to stress that this is is a short term problem and assure fans that we have robust plans in place for the future of our great club.

"We totally understand the concerns of everyone involved but want to stress that we are totally committed to taking this club forward and see it continue to grow."

Not sure how to interperate Go Diego, Go!

:?: :?: :?:

I'm sure I heard Radio Lancashire during last weeks MFC Special say that they hoped to have both Rod and Diego on the evening Sports Show this week..... :?: :?: :?:

I think it was just Rod Taylor going on the radio this week, but Radio Lancashire hoped to have an interview with Diego 'soon'. Given only two members of the board have spoken (by spoken this could be email) to Diego since Coventry away as at the meetings Mike and Nigel had with two groups last Tuesday, god only knows when this might be.

I'd say chill out, players got paid this month after saying they'd been an hicup.

and it's not like he can splash out and show us what he's made of until the transfer window opens.

that's the attitude I'm taking for now.

For once I have to agree with George. Until January, we really can't guess what's going on.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

I do understand that January is the crunch time to judge the new owner but I find the silence of the former owner and the new owner worrying. I am not convinced the sale has all been concluded satisfactorily and we are going to have a settled period of time for the club to flourish.

The question was asked at the recent Sadarse meeting whether Abdul held any shares in Morecambe FC and the answer was no he hasn't.

Call me cynical, but are there any significant benefits of owning a FL club as regards the forthcoming world cup? Such as complimentary tickets, corporate hospitality, access to celebrities/officials at events, etc??

Just wondered if buying a small/cheap club would be worthwhile to gain any such benefits?

not a lot in it really , even with a lot of premiership clubs.

think a lot of it with these rich owners, it's like owning a football club it's like an image thing, like a fashion accessory , you can show off.

there is money to be made but it's hard work and requires to be hands on, on a daily basis, probably one of the reasons PMG eventually packed it in after seeing the pound signs. after an incredible deal off Sainsburys , but then got the design and location of the new ground badly wrong.

Continuing silence about the whereabouts of Diego and the absence of any meaningful statement about the future of our club, prompts thoughts about whether the sale of the club has been a genuine transaction or not. Has PMG actually been paid for his shares? His silence on the matter adds to the worries. It couldn't all be a cruel hoax could it? Also odd that the co-chairman of the club, Abdul, actually holds no shares in the club according to questions raised at the Sadarse meeting. Do we have an owner who is going to lead us into the future or, pure conjecture, is the club now being touted round the Middle-East for a quick sale?
