Betrayed & cut adrift.

Betrayed & cut adrift.

Postby mrpotatohead » Sun Dec 18, 2016 6:56 am

The silence from both our present , and former owners, as we approach the ''most important month in our clubs history'' (Jims words), are bewildering, damaging to the club, and totally disrespectful to the hardworking players , staff, and supporters, it's a great shame to see all the hard work of the past decade going down the pan, and even if Diego or Peter come back to sort things out, they have created a bad smell around the club thats not going away for a long time.

Loads of clubs are having problems but at least their fans know where they stand. It's heartbreaking.
First thing I would do is take PM's name down from the stand and get it sponsored because we seriously need money now to fund players for our survival bid.

No outsider in their right minds would put money into the club as it is now. Signs a sponsorship deal, hands over some money, club goes into administration, contract terminated. Sounds harsh but I hope local suppliers are getting cash on delivery, wouldn't want to see any of them taken down by the clubs bad debts.

Sure is heart breaking and I don't know if we will ever be able to turn things round the whole club on and off the pitch is a sinking ship. All the work put in over the last 10 To 20 years by the board, players and fans is just going down the pan that's what makes it heartbreaking

Even with a new owner showing Leadership I don't know if we can be saved and get the fans and town back behind us.

For me the only way I see it going is for us having to start again and set up as a community club and hop the people of the town get behind us. But as things are I think we will just keep struggling on trying to stay afloat but fighting a loosing battle as the losses keep mounting up.

It certainly is a mess and whoever put up the "Bentley Out" topic a few weeks ago should have a word with themselves.

Jim has done an incredible job to hold the team together and put out a competitive side under the conditions he is working.

Who do people think would come in under the present circumstances and manage the team ?

Agreed totally, mind you, if the club did go bust Jim would get a full redundancy payment and he'd be free to take a new job.

We are in a desperate struggle to survive in the league and to survive as a football club. I don't understand PMG and Diego's position in this debacle and as I have said in another post its time for the truth to be told by the two men. It does look like we have been sold down the Swanee by both . It looks like the sale has not been satisfactorily concluded and the credibility of both men is at stake. We need to know who currently owns the club, we need to know if Diego is genuine and has the funds required- this is looking less likely. If Diego hasn't bought the club then we need to know what the directors are proposing to do and how we, as fans, can help. We cannot let our club sink into oblivion. We must do what we can to help but that is only possible if the directors are truthful with us.

The other Directors seem to be in the dark, and as very minor shareholders , are unable to force any issue even if they wanted to, as they give up their time , and money, they are being treat as badly as everyone else.

I understand the directors are fans with small share holdings but can I politely suggest they make every effort to find out whats going on as they will surely be legally liable for what transpires?

Can I politely suggest, they probably are making every effort to find out what's going on.

The only thing that is giving me any hope at all is the fact that we've got some decent people at that level who I'm confident, will be doing everything they can. Everything else is a shambles.

I am sure they are just as anxious as us to find out what the position really is.

The only light at the end of the tunnel (and I don't mean a train coming !) is that Diego is conversing with Rod Taylor. Rod is "Mr Morecambe" in every sense and a real man of integrity who will be doing his best.

We now face a bleak Xmas, no bumper paydays over the next few weeks, so even if Jim has targets, he'll have no money, his wife must be saying ''why do you bother, is it really worth it?''

Begs he question 'is there money in the clubs coffers to pay the next wages due on the 29th....' :?: :?: :?: :?:

Heard yesterday that there is a statement to be issued on the 29th concerning the future, but with so much up in the air at the moment one can't be sure of anything other than that we are in serios trouble both on and off the field.

No money... :?: A quickly diminishing squad due to injuries that will only get worse come the New Year and little prospect of additions other than loan deals which is hardly the way forward BUT might just save off the looming relegation battle.

Oh, to bring back those happy smiling faces of our years at the dearly loved Christie Park!
I am crying inside at the current state of our wonderful club.
What a shame we couldn't have stayed at Christie and re-developed the old ground, but I presume that was looked at and rejected, ironically because of finances.
Let's hope through the Supporters Trust that we can keep a football club in the town, because this seems to be where we are heading.
Dark days indeed.

Christie Park where we only lost £200k/£300k compared with £700k/£800k.

Sadly water under the bridge.

Provided our hard core 1,200 to 1,500 stay loyal then something may rise like a phoenix.

for me nothing as changed, it's still same old same old just a name change with the owner.

I suspect where still losing £500.000 on average a season with not averaging 2200 in attendances

players have been getting paid after saying they'd been an hicup

basically Diago like PMG previously as to work on getting more customers to boost revenue

Is suspect Rod Taylor will be giving Diago a fair chance and will take his word on things giving him the benifit of doubt, and rightly so.

let's just chill for now.

''The spirit of JB'', told you nearly 2 months ago, via a medium, that the new owner has no money.

well if things are that bad, might as well do what firms and company's do and that's borrow a shit loads of money as you won't have to pay it back if you go bust, and just set up again with a name change.

in order to get customers back , let's break the bank and sign a 20+ goal a season striker for starters

and address fans grievances on the terraces put an undercover roof behind the goal.

There were plans to redevelop CP, we all know that but it would of had to be paid for by the board and still wouldn't have brought as good function rooms as what the Globe has. Selling it gave us the cash to do that and give a 364 day operation which at the time was the main aim cos we couldn't rely on attendance money.
Anyway it was what the board decided was best and it's no point still going over it. We are where we are.

Surely it's time we heard from Peter McGuigan. I'm sure when the club was for sale he described it as "virtually debt free". That doesn't seem to be the case and talk of a statement on 29th- the day staff are due to be paid sounds very ominous.
