January Transfer window

January Transfer window

Postby Christies Child » Tue Dec 27, 2016 11:46 am

Assuming that there is a small amount of money availalbe what position(s) need strengthening?

OR

Should Jim stick with the squad and wait until summer to spend money to rebuild the squad?

For me I'd like a couple of additional squad players BUT if we could only sign Cole then I'd be happy with that until summer.

Personally I can't see there being any money available till the ownership issue's sorted out, and given the potential legal process, we'll be lucky if that happens before the end of the season.

We definitely need to add in any area we can as we'll be without 3 players we started the season with as Dunn barkuizen have left and cole Stockton is due to return to tranmere after the Hartlepool game. Apparently Micky Mellon wants him back so adding attacking options is a must. jennings whitemore an massanka are all due to return too but I'd imagine we'll be able to keep them 3 if we wish !

The only players we'll be able to bring in are loanees if some of our present loanees return to their clubs. How on earth can we add to the present squad if we are struggling to pay wages. It is what it is!

We can't actually do anything at all as things stand, unless a director makes a loan to the club for a specific purpose , I think any deal using club funds would have to be sanctioned by the majority shareholding chairman, we need a resolution asap, as our small squad, however well motivated, is severely depleted and urgently needs around 4 new faces.

No mention of Mellon wanting him back but due to their injury and suspensions it is probably on...

But has he paid PMcG for ALL the shares... :?: :?: :?:

If not he might be out voted by the combined Board on ALL issues.... :?: :?: :?:

Simply keeping Cole would be a success. Anything else would be a Christmas miracle.

CC, we obviously don't know the ins and outs of the deal, but we have been told that Diego is the chairman ,and the majority shareholder, whatever dispute he and PMG may or may not have regarding payment is a seperate issue, I cannot imagine that Nigel Adams would have resigned if the board coukd have usurped Diego Lemos.

In answer to Christie's Child, Diego Lemos has not paid PMG for his shares. I believe he paid a deposit and that's that. I share Keith's hopes that we are able to keep Stockton. In the present climate that's about the best we could hope for.

As things stand I can't see there being any chance of new faces in January. Our main aim should simply be to extend Cole Stocktons loan until the end of the season if possible.

I think our current squad will need to dig deep and stay as injury free as possible for the second half of the season.

I would think with regard to loanees Jim would be trying his hardest to retain Cole Stockton.

Of the others I would think he will be interested in keeping Whitmore and Jennings. A lot may depend on whether we have kept up to date with the payment of the loan fees to their parent clubs

What a cuffing mess. I doubt anyone on here really knows what we can and can't do given the current situation but I'd say our best hope is that we can get a loan signing or two in from a big club that is willing to pay all the wages to get their young player some experience. With a tough battle looming, I'd say experience is more what we need but without extra funds for wages this may be a non-starter.

Players on loan have to have acontract Bill, EFL rules, it's rare to get a loanee where the parent club pays the wages.

Knowing all what's gone on over recent weeks I find it bizarre that there's a thread starting to assume we'll have any money to bring in new players.

If things are as bad as we fear are we realistically looking at a scenario where we can't afford to extend any of our current loans? We currently have 4 (Stockton, Whitmore, Jennings & Massanka) and if they all went back that would leave us with 16 senior pros + the likes of Ben Hedley, Luke Jordan and Steven Yawson who have been unused substitutes at one point or another in the first team this year.

Wonder if Diego Lemos now intends to pay PMG what he owes or does he want board meeting to tender his resignation? Not sure if he retains any credibility to remain as owner. From the board's statement, they clearly feel he hasn't kept financial promises.

I hope it's to tender his resignation but I assume he would want whatever money he has paid PmG back. If PmG is then prepared to do that we would at least be back where we were but still with no money.

Question is "where did he get the deposit money from,...?'

It's not from Abdulrahman so was it from the North East connection if so then that's a worrying development.

That's a legitimate concern CC. Where did Mr Lemos get his deposit from. Also has he paid himself or his associates any fees? Worrying times!
