January Transfer window

Only 14 outfield players in the squad?

I think that really highlights what a good job Jim Bentley is doing.

Jim's interview with BBC Lancs is interesting this week.

Reading between the lines it sounds like that under the terms of our transfer embargo if we were to give first team debuts to any of the youth players it would affect our ability to bring in other players on loan in the future so I wouldn't expect any of them to be thrown into the first team unless it's extreme circumstances.

All the loanees are gone or going back, Stockton is a big loss, but to add Whatmore to that makes Steve McQueens escape look like a teddy bears picnic

Two of those - Aaron McGowan and Rhys Turner - have got hamstring injuries and look to be out for a week's each, so make it 12 fit outfield players. Or 11 if you take our Peter Murphy who looked absolutely broken on Monday.

Can't expect to survive in L2 if we don't get a handful of players in... the web hasn't unravelled yet, so if this happens I would say well done to those directors involved at this most difficult time, when jumping ship was probably a last resort

I don't think Jennings is returning.

He has tweeted his good wishes to us for the rest of the season.
