All this rent business is stupid. If BCFC told their landlords they wanted the rent lowering, what would the landlord do? Kick them out? Then what? Advertise in the Bradford Argus for a football team to come and rent his stadium!

Depends really doesn't it.

If he's the multi millionaire type who feels he's being blackmailed into lowering the rent he may just allow them to walk away and let Valley Parade rot. What then for BCFC? A very expensive groundshare at Odsal or even move in with Park Avenue?

The other major factor is that BCFC apparently have a long contract with the stadium owner (over 20 years left to run)? Not so easy to just walk away from that sort of thing. BCFC appear to be trapped with a massive millstone around their necks, whereas certain other teams have a new stadium on the horizon, fully paid for with alternative income streams factored into the development.
