No trains between Preston and Blackpool for 10 weeks. Somebody help, if your not drinking a can of Strongbow Dark Fruits on a train at 10am its not really an 'away day' is it

Battersbys used to run coaches to all Morecambe away matches when the club had far fewer fans.

Is it worth the Trust trying to charter some coaches from Travellers Choice at Silverdale ?

Buses laid on from Preston to complete the journey, the 9.26 train from lancaster gets you to Blackpool for 10.55 which makes the journey 29 minutes longer.

Carnforth now !! Scotland Road.

Their old site in Silverdale has been a housing development for about 20 years I'd say.

That was when they were Shaw Hadwin of course..... ;) ;)

It does mention replacement coaches from Preston but these take around an hour, twice as long as the erstwhile train journey, and I'm pretty sure alcohol is banned on these.

Now, I may be a bit ahead of myself here, but on Blackpool away, given all the oyston stuff, not a penny more, etc etc, I'm sure Blackpool fans would prefer it more if we did some event instead of attending the game in solidarity. I'm sure they'd back something where we booked a pub and we all got drunk watching Soccer Saturday or something in a pub in Blackpool.

I haven't given it much thought as I'm busy with work and all manners of other stuff - I'm sure in the next week or so their lot will be along to ask us not to attend, that's all.

As much as I sympathise with the Blackpool fans I think its more important at the moment to go to the game and give the lads as much support as we can.

Morecambe taxi firm 424424 do 8 seater return taxis for £70.. they will drop you off in Blackpool town centre and come back and pick you up as long as your coming back before 12, use this service a lot with the Lads trips, you can go on the lash all day :P

the driver just needs a mobile contact number.

Yep, I'll be going to the game to support our club. They have their problems, we have our own.

He's booked a Travellers Choice coach and there were a number of seats available a couple of weeks ago. Best check if you want to go!

Going to support our team but spend no money in the ground. This is what they usually ask away fans to do.

he BFC fans realise it is churlish to expect away fans not to follow their team, all they ask is that you don't spend a penny more inside or outside the stadium, they encourage the use of local pubs etc, I was there 10 days ago with Barnsley for the Cup game, there were a few fans outside handing out leaflets explaining their grievences and asking fans not to buy food/drinks inside, most Reds fans complied, others didn't but they were booed etc by other Barnsley fans, usually there will be someone from Blackpool contacting away fans message boards detailing this, expect a post at some stage.......as we have seen it is easy for club owners to treat their clubs/supporters with contempt and I would really hope our fans support their requests when we visit Bloomfield Rd shortly

I do feel sorry for the genuine Blackpool fans but let's remember how the behaviour of their fans led to bad press for our club.

And I know for a fact that Wycombe took 52 fans that night contained within that figure !!

Good turn out from them on a Tuesday night up North for a competition like that.

Still a bunch of cheats though.

For the Barnsley game we took 3,400, there were 900 home fans, could be a morgue

This could be a great away day for us. Agree with the Oyston ban on food but might need a half time pint! Perhaps the ST can arrange some coaches and get a really decent following going down early and into the local pubs? Maybe even arrange a ticket and coach combo and buy from the Club Shop as this would give a small percentage to us and a bit less to the Oystons!

You might as well buy food and all the rest if you're buying a pint.
