Please help

The Lotteries Department need YOUR help.

We are currently seeking new collectors for a number of our rounds throughout the local area. Sadly due to agents moving away to University or finishing due to ill health we have a number of rounds currently being collected by the lotteries staff. Due to this we now have a situation where we can no longer canvas new members on as quick as people cease to be members as the staff are collecting instead of recruiting new members.

At the present time over the last year a conservative estimate in the loss of income to the club by not having enough collectors and thus not being able to canvas is a difference of £5,000 - £7,500 per year.

The average round has 40-50 calls and most collect fortnightly, for this an agent can look at earning approx. £16 - £20 per fortnight as well as receiving a season ticket for all league games here at Morecambe FC.

Now it may be that you can help personally, if so fantastic, but also it may be a case that you may know one or two people who may be interested in helping the club, earning some cash and also watching Morecambe FC for FREE next season.

Please help us to make a brighter future and bring in the essential revenue for the club and the Youth Development.

Please contact Colin on 01524 411797 (ext 7), by email to lottery@morecambefc.com or via our facebook page of www.facebook.com/morecambe.goaldengatesuperdraw

Do you have local shops selling the lottery tickets for you, or is this not allowed?

Used to have many years ago. Loads of local businesses would stock the old 25p scratch cards.

Are they even still going?

I used to go round local businesses and shops myself asking them to stock those cards.

They were very, very popular back in the day.

Some newsagents do, but not to the number that used to many years ago (due to not having newspaper delivery accounts in the main)
Scratchcards ceased over 4 years ago - down to cost and the revenue they brought in. Again, most outlets stopped as they sold the likes of National Lottery scratchcards instead. The last set we had date expired with around £500 worth unsold. Also, off top of head we had less than 5 "outlets" and only 2 knew where their tickets were located!

So, back to the point of the post - we need agents for EXISTING rounds with EXISTING customers to raise the money. I have read many people saying we should run with volunteers. Kindly the FCoM board put out an appeal, we had one person come forward for match day OTB selling and they unfortunately have been unable to attend.

If you wish for us as a society to support the Community projects (over £20,000 raised last financial year) please come forward.

{{ Bump }}

To clarify from a message I have received

ALL the monies raised by the department go towards funding the community section / school of excellence. The recent news will not change this.

ALL the monies are held in an account separate from Morecambe FC (as per the law) and donated over.

Please continue to support the draw and if you could help out we would all be extremely grateful especially at this worrying time

Thank you all

Hope you had some positive responses? At a difficult time, every little helps!
