He claims to have a €100m fortune but there seems to be no immediately available information to specify how he would have come by this money. Indeed, in his News interview it was claimed; “Mr Cala, who said he is worth an estimated 100m euros, said he has worked in Mexico and Japan but would not fully disclose how he made his wealth.”
Very Trumpian. Very dodgy.

I was really hoping that there was a connection between Cala and Trump, even just a photo. It would be the final piece in the most incredible jigsaw of absurdity.

A couple of hours of basic internet searching have showed that Joseph Cala lied about his MBA, never produced a single Euro when he acquired Salernitana (in a deal similar to that of Lemos and MFC), wasted so much time at Portsmouth that he contributed to their collapse, has a CV where virtually everything he claims to have done and owned has been disputed, and is an agressive "volcanic" character.

How the **** did anyone not read this stuff and think, "hmmm, maybe this might not be such a good idea"?

Who next? Phillip Green? Lord Lucan? Vladimir Putin? Rolf Harris? Walter Mitty himself?

If he's talking to Cala you have to question whether he's "falling for another one" or he simply doesn't care who he sells it to as long as he gets his money.

Either scenario would be unthinkable really!

I once said that I'd support OUR club irrespective of whatever league it found itself in.

I still stand by that, but it's beginning to look as though it might well happen.....

Even I'm beginning to loose faith in our present owner.....whoever that is.... :o

The Blackpool fans may hate Karl Oyston but the last accounts of Blackpool FC filed at Companies House showed they have a bank balance of £7 million.

Ok , they may not invest as much as the fans want in players and the owner is a convicted rapist , but at least their club isn't in danger of going down the pan.

BBC Radio Lancashire now reporting (having spoken to PMG) that Cala is no longer interested and has returned to the States.

We have to assume it's PMG. By the hour it's looking like Diego was used. Share dealings that the shareholder knows nothing about. The more that comes out, the more chance PMG has of being the legal owner again and it's on that basis he will continue to try & sell. The club can't afford to wait until the legal side is sorted, a buyer needs to be ready the day that's done.

The club is being made a laughing stock by PMG and the implausible people he entertains as potential owners of the club. I have no confidence that the people who have taken us to the brink of extinction are now able to sort out the club's problems and find us a legitimate owner. Bring on the Supporters Trust!

Crikey, it's like something from hit 1970's TV show Record Breakers.

:D

CC wasn’t the only one having nasty pops at Jim a while ago. I know we didn’t know everything what was going on but we all knew the club didn’t have bags of money and he was having to wheel and deal and keep it all going so I thought he didn’t deserve the stick he got.
When moneys tight like it is for us and has been for a few years you need a manager who can get players in because of his character and passion – how many players have we got in who have said they turned bigger clubs down because they wanted to work with Jim?
Its one’s like Devitt, Miller, Edwards, Rose, Stockton and Wildig who have kept us getting enough points to stay above relegation and they all could have gone to other clubs.
Its not always been great to watch, fair enough, but hes been doing a good job in crap circumstances for years.
Its good to see people on here having the good grace to say they were too harsh on Jim, that takes a lot to admit. Credit to you what have done that, fair play.

For all his bluster CC is a dedicated supporter of Morecambe football club and I imagine a very hurt one at the moment seeing this mess unravel, he was far far from alone in the critisism of Jim and Ken, and his rosy tinted glasses regarding PMG are probably becoming misty, I disagree with alot of his views, but not with his commitment as a fan and his love of MFC.
