Also according to Tim Padfield of Radio Lancashire , Graham Burnard (Accountant/Tax Adviser) has been at "The Globe" today.

It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall

The Visitor is reporting that PMG met with Graham Burnard last week.

Why are we talking about Jimbo in this thread?
We should be talking about PM legacy being torn to bits.

Mr Cala seems to have done a fair bit of research into the club, being quoted as saying:-

"There is too much concentrating on catering and weddings. The clubhouse has become a wedding hall. It should not be that way. Fans go to watch football."

I'm sure a lot of fans would agree with that.

I dread to think what the annual loss would be without the catering, weddings, company meetings etc etc etc.

Has anybody got any spare bedsheets and pots of paint knocking about? How much does it cost to hire a small plane?

Yes , I was down that way Saturday evening , the "Globe Grill" Bar looked very busy and there was a function going on above in the W & L Suite.

There are funeral lunches , weddings , christenings , business seminars etc going on most days of the week.

It should be a profitable operation.

An analysis of fixed and variable overheads for this side of the club would be interesting reading.

But does this sustain the wages of all the full time salaried non-playing staff at the club? Consider that we lose more money now than we ever did at Christie Park with slightly lower crowds (at the moment, albeit this is impacted by poor home form in recent seasons) and a similar playing budget (depending on who you listen to, we now have a much lower playing budget) - what's changed?

I'm told, despite it being excellent, the match day programme loses money - if that's the case why do we bother producing one? It seems such an outdated concept just to chase meaningless awards and keep a few anoraks happy.

Complete Bollocks. Fans go once a fortnight, the function side of the business is run by a very well established team 7 days a week. It's a pity that brides & grooms don't have to be counted through a turnstile, interesting figures

It might be against FL regulations, but I've often wondered why clubs don't produce say one programme to cover say 4 or 5 matches?

Cost savings would be enormous.

Sorry for saying Bollocks but having organised a party there, knowing the cost (excellent value for money) and the fact another similar party was in the other half of the W&L, I'd say it's a success. It's also something, if it were losing large amounts of money, cut be cut adrift overnight yet its still going strong.

Apparently Cala has ended his interest in buying MFC, so , what happens next, I shudder to think.

10 years could work, looking forward to a 3.1 win at Stafford Rangers and moving up to 5th spot

Indeed he has. Radio Lancashire tweeted that at lunchtime today and I posted it on here.

A lucky escape.

Are you an ambitious Businessman? No real money but plenty of potential credit? You could be the CEO of a company similar to Trotters Independent Traders. A company that has suddenly sprung up from nowhere and you are after a profesional (!) football club which happens to be up for sale? You may have a suitcase of Euro's in your hand! Get yourself down to the Globe Arena Morecambe and grab a bargain!! You might even get to meet the owner (if you know his name and wherabouts)! You know it makes sense! :o
