A change in manager is nearly always a new owner putting his stamp on a club. Despite my misgivings about style of play under Jimbo he's MFC through and through and could have walked away many times. IF it does see Jim sadly go then thankfully he'd have no problem in finding another club where funding for players will be a lot better than at our club.

MFC..RIP

A club statement on the OWS discusses the new arrangements for the Development Centre but no mention of the takeover. Strange... :?: :?: :?:

This for me sees the beginning of the end of MFC as a league club and could see the end of Jimbo and Co as part of the predicted cost cutting measures.

I can't see the new owner particularly Cala agreeing to a Trust memeber on any new Board either.

Sad day for us all and am shocked that Abdul has done this to us after all that has been said about him recently.

I am reminded of the Charge of the Light Brigade when I think of our club! We have been led to the slaughter by a board that didn't communicate with the fans, a board that lied through the teeth and a board that squandered the Sainsbury money. History will remember them very badly. The sooner any link with this board is removed from the ground the better. Puzzled how Abdul can sell the club when he had resigned some time ago and didn't seem to own any shares! I am worried about Jimbo's future- he has been loyal and committed to our club.

Blinkers back on I CC. You really can't see anything wrong with PMG, can you? All Abdul's fault now, would that be the Abdul that PMG has said he's been working with?

Not convinced of that. If he's actually done any research of the fans, he'll know how highly Jim is held, so making a statement like that may actually backfire spectacularly.

And still no statement from the club?

Foreign owners don't care about 40'000 fans at bigger clubs mate, they won't give a toss what a solid 1400 fans at our club think of all this. If he wants to bring his own men in then he won't think twice about it !

http://www.inthebay.co.uk/Morecambe-FC- ... ddb2afc-ds

"Reports of a sale circulated across the media earlier this morning and now Mr Cala’s agent has confirmed to us directly that the businessman has bought the club."

"This afternoon, Mr Di Stefano, confirmed that Cala had done the deal last night with Graham Burnard and one-time co-chairman, Abdulrahman Al-Hashemi."

So, the only person alleged to have handed over money and the accountant who owns most of the shares have done a deal.

So you believe that PMcG was telling lies in the released club statement about Abdul working with the Board to resolve the crisis... :?: :?: :?:

For me, Abdul had a seperate agenda that has only become clear this morning..

Not at all Neil, yet again you take the blinkered position. I am saying that if PMG was working with Abdul then he should be or have been aware of the negotiations between Abdul & Cala, maybe that's what PMG meant when he said working with the board. It's also interesting to see the accountant being mentioned in the deal, the person that PMG met a week or two ago according to the press. And you're suggesting PMG has had no involvement in the sale to Cala?

Go on then Neil, I'll bite. What 'separate agenda' was that? Because nothing is clear to me.

I firmly believe that PMcG had no idea about the Abdul and Cala relationship. However it's obvious that there has been a lot of underhand dealings that have now come to light.

As i said I feel sorry for Rod Taylor and David Brockbank who it appeared had faith in Lemos / Abdul.

Well it sounds like he's been interested in the club for a while and his persisting in trying to buy it can only be a positive thing. I'm more optimistic to hear he will be the new Chairperson rather than Abdul, Diego or a clearly disinterested and disillusioned PMG.

I'm interested to know how much Cala had to pay for the shares if the Lemos/Al Hashemi/Burnard alliance got them on the cheap in the first place. Have they made a profit out of the situation?

Really?

The way I see it the meeting between PMG and Abdul that resulted in "steps have been taken to ensure the immediate future of the club" probably went along these lines:

PMG: I've agreed to sell the club to Joseph Cala, we need you to be on board for this to go through, are you happy to sign off on this deal?

Abdul: Yes

Honestly can't see how you can come to any other conclusion?

At least we all have something we can agree upon!

Interesting that the story has now been pulled from 'inthebay' web site. Curiouser & curiouser.

The whole bloody place has been a fiasco since the (delayed) opening days of The Globe and no gravy with the pies.

And don't get me started on changing the colours of the club badge on away shirts....

Irrelevent I know right now in the grand scheme of things, but it just sums the whole thing up.

Want my football club back.

Radio Lancashire and BBC North West TV reporting that there is a Board meeting taking place at The Globe at the moment.

Also both stations refer to Cala's agreeing to a cash injection.

Think we ALL want our football club back.....
